taught me I want to say everything I know but so much about my spiritual

here to talk not about Wicked surprisingly this is something that not only do people ask all the time for
Anthony to come back on the Pod we've had so many requests specifically for Anthony to come and talk about this one
specific topic which is ethics when you are a witch for a living
like when you're providing spiritual services and this is because of a video that you made which I think is so funny
because we talked so much about this video before you posted it we like had a lot of conversations and that's what I
love so much about you and I and our friendship is that it reminds me so much of like Molly and I when we first
decided to start this podcast but we just talk about these things like all the time like these big Topics in the
spiritual community and I feel like that's where a lot of our growth has come from is through like the verbal
processing of it so I'm really excited to talk about it here but we're going to talk about some red flags that we see in
the spiritual Community how to avoid them and how to stay on track with your own moral compass when you're offering
spiritual Services I think it's cool to have this conversation the three of us because we kind of represent different
parts of the spiritual Community like Anthony is very much like mediumship working with people one-on-one
like I think there's a tremendous amount of like vulnerability with people who come to readings and then Madison you
have like the storefront so like the physical goods and then I sort of represent the like teaching mentorship
side of the the spirituality so I think it'll be a really interesting conversation I'm excited to hear what y'all think about ethics one of my
favorite things seriously one of my favorite favorite things it it is it I feel like too in in in what with with
what we do as a whole being having an ethical like mindset is so important because of how many people
especially I mean you can see it every day how many people are very easily taken advantage of you know and so I
think it's this is a very important conversation and I'm really excited for this like platform this moment to be
able to do this so I appreciate you guys but first Anthony what was your magic
moment this week I mean I work at spell crafter what wasn't my magic moment right
you don't have to pick one from this week you could pick one from like say when we went to Disney together because I know that's like your lifetime Magic
Moment meeting the imagination Dragon no I'm joking meeting figment meeting figment
no um I actually do have a cool magic moment moment this I don't know if it
was this week but I mean most of us we' most of us have pets we we've talked
about our animals our cats and our dogs and um you guys have just seen Ruby walk AC Ross the screen behind Madison uh my
magic moment involves this little turd right here this beginning of this year has been so like insane like in a in
good ways but also I can tell that this year is going to really challenge me and breaking down a lot of the things that I
uh need to kind of uh break down like a what I want what I want to to dissect
and like there's a word I'm looking for here in the sense of like deconstruct thought processes and
breaking molds is going to be a huge thing for me this year stepping into a year five and it's been already like
quite challenging and uh Madison as you know through our like deep conversations like there have been moments already
this year that I've like been like what the [ __ ] am I gonna do sorry I can cuss right please do you can you can swear
please please do really quick though could you explain what you mean when you say a year five
so yeah what's a year five so do you know what your Life Path year is you know what that means like what your life
path number is does that make sense to you you take your birthday so like I was born on July 16th 1988 you take seven plus 1 plus 6
Plus n 1 plus 88 right you add it all together comes to like something and
then you add those two numbers together um and so my life path is four which is like the teacher the structure the all
that good [ __ ] um when you take your birthday and you add it up with the current year so My Birthday 716 with
2025 it breaks down to a year five and so there's like a cycle right one through nine and then you restart um
five you're life path four I'm a life path four okay I just did the math and I'm also a four so I'm just gonna apply
everything you say to me yes we're we're the life path fours are the people who love to teach and
they love structure and they are they they have their own organization when they see other chaotic people it kind of
tends to freak us out a little bit because I'm like how do you do that I think is hysterical that you guys are both friends with me yeah I was like I
am chaos well you're like Madison you're like in between I feel like you're like a a good
dose of chaos and structure in my opinion but you're like the chaotic Vergo energy I love that yeah like like
an exile spreadsheet that's just like a little bit broken tell me about
it Contin just reopen so if you take your birthday 0716 for me and then you
do the year 2025 break it down for me it ends up being five which is like the
number of change it's the number of you know breaking the mold and kind of like
stepping in from going from a uh year four which was my year last year creating structure and um Foundation
right uh and security year five is where we go through we take that structure and security and that foundation and then we
break molds to kind of further that I guess you can say and so I'm already going through a lot of that in in my
mind and so how does this relate to Ruby um I don't know if you guys probably not for you well maybe Molly your dogs are a
little bit bigger but Madison have your cats ever just come and laid laid on your chest all the time oh my dogs do
that all the time do they lay on your chest you breathe when they do that barely yeah they lay on top of each
other on top of my chest it's great oh my gosh p puppy pile up um the the other
night I was laying on the couch and Ruby just like came and crawled up onto my chest and laid there and she like rested
her head on my neck and just fell so in into such a deep sleep I'm not kidding you Ruby is a raiki practitioner um she
it I it was like I just felt everything lift for a second and it it was it was insanely just like it was it was a magic
moment it was like just so beautiful and I felt so like I felt like somebody was
just giving me a huge hug and saying it's going to be okay you have to do this you know like sort of thing and it
was just like I don't know that was my magic moment though sorry that took me so long to get to it okay circling back
to the year thing because I know I'm going to want to Google this later and other people are going to want to Google this if they're not a life path four in
year five what what do I Google once I found my number um just look type in
like uh what does it mean to be in a year five or what is your what is your year you year one oh New Beginnings
baby come on and I'm in a year seven right I think we did this together the other day
introspection and spiritual Evolution that's let's just go through them let's go through one through nine
Anthony no my year my year nine was when like my 10-year Cosmetics Journey like
Cosmetics like industry like career came to an end I lost friends I lost things
but that led me to where I'm at now so like that's that it kind of it's really cool okay so we have one New Beginnings
what's two balance what's three creation
four structure Foundation five change six I don't
know very you're gonna have to Google six folks yeah sorry guys I just wanted to test you and see
if you could name them all off well I will be very honest that's the first step in being an ethical
psychic medium is just be honest when you don't know [ __ ] hey look at that segue what an excellent segue I thought
that we were transitioning into a numerology podcast I was like well here we go see actually we planned that segue
it was so good that we couldn't have not planned it no but I agree I think admitting you
don't know is such a such an important thing in a a spiritual whether you're
giving a reading and you're like I don't know that's not coming through or someone ask you a question Madison about like you know which crystal is going to
be good for like you know repelling off a volcano I don't know right versus just
making something up did you all just start thinking about it did we all just think Carnelian I was
thinking I actually thought obsidian because it's volcanic what I okay I I first I thought obsidian and then I was
like wait no car Carnelian is gon to beid but you're right obsidian made from lava so everybody knows you need you
need confidence to get through a volcano did all of us just kind of look up to the side like yeah we all just like what
would I say no I sometimes I will test Myself by like creating scenarios in my
head and then saying what would I say to that like yeah because I think coming
from a retail perspective that happens all the time and I really like to see
[ __ ] like that as like a puzzle you know and I think that this is something that
maybe gets lost in translation for people like seeking out spiritual services and it's something that I've
really tried to come back to like even as a reader too is that no matter what lens you're
looking at it from like whether it's from the teaching and mentorship POS uh position or whether it's from like reading or whether it is from like in a
store like all of this is collaboration like we are working together to solve the puzzle it's not like a person
presenting you with a puzzle and it's your job to like solve it and then you're in trouble if you don't yeah what
I really like about spirituality is that it's not like math class where there's like a right answer and a wrong answer
at least the way that I think ethical practitioners approach it I think all of
us approach it is like our motto you are the magic so how could I possibly have
the correct answer about your life without your input and your um
participation in the conversation that's at least how I approach it yeah and I really think that when we get too much
in the in the space of like I need to prove myself I think that's how you kind
of end up going down the road of like betraying your own morals and betraying your own ethics cuz I really don't think
like the video that you made that kind of like inspired this whole conversation
was surrounding Liam Payne's death oh tell us tell me I haven't seen the video
so give us a recap yeah tell us about it uh so it's actually kind of first of all
let me preface this with I didn't know who this person was until Madison you you explained it to me um when I was
deeply deeply remorseful remorseful and traumatized by The Experience yeah thank
you for holding space for me during that difficult time yeah I'm holding space for Defying
Gravity number 22 okay um no um no what had happened what had happened was like
seriously I think it was like what the day later or two days later this people on Tik Tok psychic mediums on Tik Tok we
were coming on especially this one specific person who I don't even know their name the video was actually sent
to me and I was asked my opinion on and essentially what this person was saying was that I don't usually do this
especially when there's kids involved and blah blah blah blah blah but I did connect to Liam on the other side saying
that he she's not GNA tell us everything that he said and all this type of stuff
and I cannot explain to you there was like such a mixture of disgust such a
mixture of anger and sadness all wrapped up in one when I watched this video because the amount of people that were
commenting on it saying thank you so all the which if she brought people peace
great but but at what cost but at what cost and it was such to me it was an
opportunistic uh moment of I know there are millions of people mourning this and
let me just take that mning and get views let me just get this and it to me that that is what is so unethical and I
think the hard part about this is like I get really nervous online even like with the like I have a small
amount of followers right I get so nervous of sharing my opinions about this stuff with people and I think
that's why we talked so much about it before I posted at Madison because I was like I don't know if I should do this but it just feels important and so to be
here talking about it now is like kind of interesting because I was so scared to post about it but like you don't you
don't use people's grief or clout right
and like you know even Liam Payne every even like these big celebrities it's
like what do you call that a parasocial relationship it's not a it's not a relationship and he's got family members
who are deeply deeply mourning right now or and probably still not you know and
to to be seizing that opportunity it just it made me so mad and as somebody who I feel that I I maybe sometimes I
take things maybe too seriously but like when you're dealing with people who are mourning the loss of a loved one you
just have to be so careful and I I think the reason what makes a good psychic medium honestly is having to mourn
yourself and know what it's like and so to see that it just really hurt my it hurt my
feelings you know like it was not cool yeah so that was the video yeah it's
interesting because I I like I I don't I don't want to say I understand because I
don't but I can see how for someone who's like grieving and wants answered that could potentially give them answers
and feel supportive but like I was really deeply affected when Aaron Carter died very suddenly and I remember
getting on my fyp like people connecting to him through like talk boxes and things it was not settling it was not
like it just felt exploitative it just felt like who the [ __ ] are you to be
like disturbing this man's Spirit like haven't we like and that was a little
bit different because I think like when celebrities die there's always this element of like okay did the did the
attent lead them to that death and so it's like
now that they've especially like the way Aaron Carter died the way Liam Payne died that now that we know it's like did
that now we're like exploiting them after they passed it's like what like
why why why for no other reason other than like you want views you want clicks
you want whatever like and I think it's it's interesting um you know cuz when I
was like deeply deeply affected by that loss you know obviously like I have a parasocial relationship with Aaron Carter um and have since I was like 10
years old so I'm not ashamed to talk about it but like I I connected I tried to connect with the spirit through raiki
just to kind of like ease my own heart it wasn't like I went on Tik Tok and was
like I connected with Aaron Carter through raiki like I think that's the difference is like the difference is
like I had my own grieving process that I did through my practices and through
what I know how to do intuitively I'm not going to go on and like exploit
that for views like I think that's where the line is for me at least in terms of like when there is that like parasocial
relationship loss it's like it's okay to grieve it's okay to connect if they're consenting to it but don't then use that
to book clients which is really like the intention behind like making a viral
video about it I want to say something that you you said a word in there that is so important consent my favorite word
yeah it's such a great word right and that's what this person was doing they took the consent away from the family
they took the consent away if I were to be if um let's Le uh what's his name again
Liam Payne Liam pay if his family to me I can't look at you right now listen
if Liam pay's reached out to me Statue of him on our altar like not a statue is
it's a bobblehead um but he literally lives in your workspace and you can't
even remember his name and I smoke cleanse the altar so i've smoked cleansy
and Payne statue we go but no if his family reached out to me and said hey would you
try to connect and you're welcome to post about it I don't think I would post about it still but like I would that
then I would be like okay let's do this um to kind of build on what you were saying though Molly about connecting to
Aaron Carter you know when we set up a alter in spell crafter during the SN
season or for those of you who don't know what SN is it's the around Halloween right um we put up An ancestry
altar to honor the loved ones who have passed you know one thing that I did I I had a really tough time with Whitney
Houston's death I'm not trying to age myself here but um you know even I think
I'm actually more affected by it now that I'm older than I was when she actually died even though I was affected
when she passed but um you know so in the mornings after when I would come
into the shop I would blast Whitney Houston and that was kind of my way of connecting to her but also not my way of
connecting to people like that is by honoring them right by by like by like playing their music by just loving
listening to their voice you know and just kind of thinking about them you know that is such a huge and wonderful
way to connect but like you said you didn't post about it on Tik Tok you weren't seeking you know follows or
clout from it like it it really is just kind of like you got to ask yourself what is your intention of doing this and
if your intention is anything but service at that point in time or something that includes like what we
said clout and whatnot then maybe rethink what you're going to do you know yeah I think if you were to ask those
people they would say their intention is service and so I think intention is
obviously important is The Guiding Light but like what is what is the thing we say it's like uh we don't say it what is
this thing we say we're like intent doesn't matter as much as um impact over
intent thank you welome I love that yeah it's like we have to think about how it
impacts other people and I think the profession as a whole um in addition to
our intent being service yeah and I think like going back
to how we kind of end up like how people can end up in that place like that
trying to prove yourself energy I think that that really ends up feeding ego in a way that I look at those videos and I
like who do you think you are that in the midst of transition Liam Payne is like oh I know
what I need to do I need to go like this person is reaching out to me this woman who is on Tik Tok like yeah I'm gonna go
talk to her that I've never met before and do not know and doesn't know my family uhhuh and like like maybe like
wasn't even a fan like you know whatever it is like he's got bigger fish to fry bigger things to do like there's
death is you know to quote our Lord and savior kattia death is like
graduation and that is a busy and stressful time and I know that neither of you know where that is from you know
Anthony but you of course Molly I've said that to her and she's like what are
you talking about aside are Molly and I not Trixie and Kaa she is Trixie and I am Kya ABS
[ __ ] lutely oh my God yes thank you thank you you're literally wearing red right now too which is funny and Molly
has pink hair there we go um anyways that is a turbulent time filled
with like there's a lot going on and I really do think that when we that is where it it becomes so
dangerous to feed your ego like I something that we talk about a lot is being honest in readings when our ego
comes into play this is something that you've done with me especially like I think it's easier with people you're
close to to get into that place I don't know that at least is true for me like I want to
be right when I'm reading for you more than anybody you know because you know me I can like be wrong with people I
don't know and that is easier to forget about but I have to look you in the eyes every day and so you were wrong remember
that time you were wrong when you read for me and obviously that happens all the time like
we it is not a perfect science to be in that world and we say to each other all
the time I don't know if this is my ego but this is what I'm seeing and experiencing does that resonate for you
and like being really conscious of your ego as like a going back to the puzzle metaphor like your ego is also sitting
at the table and your ego wants to be the one who's best at the puzzle the one who is you know the fastest in finding
the most pieces and is like you know showing everybody else out and really like learning how to like nurture that
part of you and say like I understand why this is what you want but like you got to I think you need a five minute
breather before you come back to the puzzle I think is a really important piece of that too like because I do
think that I agree with you Molly that if you asked that person who was saying that they were connecting to Liam P I do
believe that a lot of those people believe that they are doing a service and they do believe that that is their
intention do I think that if they maybe did a little bit of introspection they would find that maybe that wasn't the case
probably but on the surface I do think that that's what they believe and I think that it can kind of happen to
anyone like that's something that you and I talk about Molly where we do this all the time we're like if I ever behave like XYZ I need you to say something to
me you know like if I ever get this too big for my bridges I need you to sit me
down and say something because it is such an easy slippery slope because people like there are
people who come looking for Spiritual services with intense vulnerability the kind of vulnerability
that makes people very easy to manipulate and I think think that that's something too that it's a skill that you have to learn it's a muscle you have to
grow to like learn how to spot that and that is when it's most important to put your ego away absolutely you know what I
was just thinking is how I always work with my ego and can tell if I'm in my
ego or not is When someone tells me I've impacted them in a way that didn't match my intention how do I respond that will
tell you if you're in your ego or if you're in service because our ego wants to put those defense is up it wants to
guard against judgment it wants to be right it wants to be no well my intent was this but when we step out of our ego
that's when we go you know what just for this breath I'm going to put what I think I was doing aside and see if I can
see the bigger perspective and the thing about that is if we think about intuition and the third eye is so
connected to our sense of perception our ability to get out of that tunnel vision and see all sides it actually helps us
be more psychic if we do that I feel you know for me my my
personal struggle with being a reader is service service over performance right
and because you know and I have that battle all the time and I'm very happy to to speak about it and talk about it
very openly because being a reader and sitting across from somebody and bringing through a loved one who is and
being able to give them very like solid uh evidence of who is there right even
if it's just talking about their personality what they looked like or whatever that is like oh it is so
gratifying it's like a superpower it feels great and that makes it very hard
uh to remember to this is about service right and I think one very important
thing that you said Molly was you know you might walk away from something thinking that you did one thing and then
find out that it was a completely different story for the for the sitter or for the for the student or whatever
whomever you're working with and you have to remember that it's not about your performance it's about what
they get from you and why they came there I personally believe that only the people who need to can who need me to
work with them or who need to work with me or whatever um will come to me and they're going to come to me and they're
going to get exactly what they need from me regardless of what I do because I am just a I am a vessel I am just here
playing the intermediate person who can help deliver the messages that they need and so sometimes have to walk away from
Readings that I don't feel so great about and think to myself they got what they needed though and that's all that
matters and I think that this is where it so I know we've been talking a lot about ego and stuff but how does this
apply to the ethics aspect of being a psychic medium or a raiki practitioner or a witch in the in the metaphysical
store is you know remembering that it's not about you right and it like you guys said
impact over intention and all that kind of stuff I do think that a lot of people who are going online and doing these
things like we talked about they have the intention of service or you know on the outside but if they really check in
with their ego they're realizing how opportunistic it was to go on and do that and you know and I also I want to
add something in about this this is uh speaking from the psychic medium aspect of things um I I mean I definitely have
my fair share of experiences where a spirit person comes forward or gives me a little glimpse of something or I hear
somebody say my name or something like that you know randomly but
I don't connect with spirits who without somebody needing to
connect to them does that make sense yeah you have boundar yeah I have maybe it is a boundary that I have set like a
very strong one but like to say I'm going in to connect with uh x x y and z
or somebody Joo on the other side and not have that person there who's trying to connect that kind of a link because
it's a three-way street right it's you've got your sitter you've got me and you've got the person in spirit and
there have been times where the sitter comes in and they're so their grieving process is so deep like they're still so
deep in the grieving process that it creates a weird block to the person in spirit and so the idea of connecting
with a spirit person without having that sort of Link there is weird to me and
again I that just might be the way that I work I'm not I'm not discounting anybody's ability or discounting anybody else's medium [ __ ] but like for instance
you know I'm not going to connect with Madison's grandfather without you wanting me to
connect with him right unless there's something really important right the other day I will tell you this is a really interesting story I was watching
a TV show as I was getting ready and in the TV show they were dealing with their father's ashes and whatnot and I got
this overwhelming feeling that of like sprinkling somebody's ashes like on the
side of a mountain or on this like weird vacation destination place right I don't know where the feeling came from because
they ended up throwing ashes over the balcony on on in their house which is weird um the TV show is six feet under
if anybody wants to know and um I was watching it and right after they did
that I hit pause because I had to leave and as I'm leaving I got this overwhelming feeling of spreading somebody's ashes on the side of a
mountain and this was Sunday actually because I was getting ready to go to the class um to teach them teach that
workshop at the shop and um I get to the work I get to the shop and I'm like I
wonder why that happened I wonder why I thought about that I get to the shop and this lady that I had read for before
came in with her brother and she comes up to me with her brother and she said hi I don't know if you remember me
you read for me and I was like yeah of course I remember you and she was like this is my brother our dad died in
August and we are wondering if there's like a really good time like what when
should we come and try to get a reading about him and I told them this is where the ethics come in I'm not going to say
come right now let's do it let's do it right I'm not going to make a buck off of this I said you need to check in with yourselves and where you are with your
grieving process I said if you guys are still having a really tough time with it and you feel like you need to wait a little bit it's more about your grieving
process for me um to connect than it is like you know people people say that you
should wait six months for the person on the other side to transition I haven't had that experience mostly my experience
is where are you in your grieving process and so I let them know that and then they said to me you know we we're
still wondering what to do with his ashes and I stopped and I looked at them and I went oh my God and I told them
what had happened and they both looked at each other and they're like oh my gosh we actually talked about that
taking his Ashes to one of his favorite vacation spots and sprinkling some there and then I saw right and then I saw a
picture when I was saying that of a necklace with ashes in it and so I told them that too and so did their father's
Spirit know that I was going to talk to them and say to me while I was watching that that this is happening that could
very well be but there was still that link right there was still that link where they were they ended up being there time doesn't exist right and so he
knew I was going to see them and bl BL blah and so that could be the case but what I'm trying to say is like for them
to go online and be like well I connected with Liam to me it just doesn't make that much sense to connect
with somebody without having that link there right so and maybe the link for this psychic medium was the fans right
so I I but I'm just I just wanted to share that I thought that was was very interesting yeah I I think that's
something that gets discounted a lot like the idea that people in spirit have
boundaries it is not just like again going back to that like egocentric way
of thinking like that I am so powerful that I could summon someone that I never met just because I want to talk to them
so I can make a Tik Tok video like that completely like disregards the other
person's consent I think where a lot of this like conversation with ego comes from
is the it's a reflection of our like
society's views on spirituality like I think the more that we see the spiritual
side of Tik Tok or Instagram or wherever like the mainstream quote unquote spirituality talks about just working in
the light and you know High Vibes only like this idea that you can't have an
ego to be psychic and to disregard the ego that's what creates the ability for
the ego to take over it's like I think true a true ethical psychic has a deep
relationship with their ego and their Shadow as much as they do with their intuition and the light I don't think
you can bisect those things and still be ethically like able to hold space for
another person you know yes totally like it's when you Gaslight yourself you end up gaslighting others like yes it's you
know what you put into yourself is what you put out to the world and so if you are denying that that part of VI yeah
it's like if you ignore weeds in your yard you know and say like oh my yard is
so beautiful and perfect like nothing nothing that I don't want could ever grow here and you just like you don't
look at it for six months like you're going to turn around and it's going to be overgrown if you leave your ego to
its own devices it is going to like overperform yeah totally absolutely that
is actually if you don't work with your ego you're actually I feel not doing the
right work actually in I'm I'm developing a psychic development like course right and that is something we
talk about heavily is like how do you you have to learn what your ego is otherwise your ego is going to tell the
whole story and you can't hide from it or try to remove it because we need it like the ego is what keeps Us Alive
exactly it's how do you know which is which right um and it's it's so
intriguing to me because that is I think that we now we get into the idea of spiritual psychosis right um when people
are like oh it's always love and light don't ever think anything negative nothing negative actually happen you know like if you think negative things
you'll make yourself sick yeah exactly if you suppress it actually and you don't flow through the negativity and
work or work through the things that are you know I I think negatives a very interesting term I you know but like
through the things that are hard right you suppress it all that's what makes you sick I mean it's literally I feel
like there's so many studies on that don't ask me where to find those because I don't [ __ ] know but but that is out there they're out
there they are out there trust me I do want to say this too is as people I know
Madison you you're not as active on your personal social media with like the spiritual stuff but even with the shop you know and Molly you're you're super
active on social media I need to be more active on social media but like or does your
ego is that your ego talking Anthony both two two things can be true at once right um but like you know we do want to
be on there we want to be sharing our light we want to be sharing what we know and our knowledge and helping people as much as possible so I think there's just
like a fine line and that's where the co like ethics do come in is like how do you do this without you know trying to
take advantage of people or you know making sure that you're not taking advantage you know which by the way sorry I haven't posted a weekly poll
this week I have so many complicated feelings about the internet and
spirituality I feel like that's something I've been really working through um I've talked about it at
length with both of you how like I feel like I've really taken a step back from
being present online um for those who don't know like Molly and I fully met on Tik Tok because I had like a Tik Tok
presence that I completely stepped away from because I realized that I was going
through the motions of posting things because it fed my ego and I was
like in a really dark and only place in my life that I let like clicks and likes
and comments feel avoid that like my personal life wasn't fing I was like really in a hard place which is really
easy to do like the apps are designed to increase that dopamine so that you stay
on them and so when you start getting clicks or comments or views it is really easy to just like do the things that
create that totally and now as I've like really
swung to the other end of the pendulum we joke that like if you follow me on Instagram I know that you really [ __ ]
with this podcast like because what on Earth are you following me for I post once a quarter I make one good joke on
an Instagram story every four to six weeks and I'm like trying to reckon with
those feelings and come back to the internet in a way that feels good because I find myself ending up in this
place where I feel very jaded because the only things that we talk about like about the internet and spirituality
specifically like that sector of online spaces like I don't like yeah just to be
like totally honest there are maybe five people that I follow in the spiritual space online and
I'm talking to two of them yeah you know yeah I don't follow a lot of spiritual people and and what's
interesting is like the reason that we see a lot of the like quote unquote
unethical or what feels like manipulative spirituality online is because that's what gets clicks right it
creates discourse in the comments or it creates fear and so when you're afraid you send it to your friend or you save
it or you're like what do I do and all of that engagement tells the algorithm
that's what that's what we want to see more of and so like you know I feel like I went through this when I was first on
Tik Tok like I realized if I didn't have a hook at the first you know few minutes of my videos where I was like don't do
this with your crystals like it wouldn't get any and then after a while I was like I'm really tired of like making content like
that like that does not feel like me and I had to go through like a stage of no
one seeing my content and my ego going like oh my God if someone goes to my profile and they see I have 900,000
followers and I get like 10,000 views or whatever people are going to think blah blah and that was all ego and I had to
like completely separate myself from that and just be like okay what's going to be fun for me to post and so fun that
when I post it it feels authentic me and it calls in the right people and I don't
even think about the clicks because I had so much fun making it and that was really when I found my community and I
found my people yeah maybe as you're talking I was like wow maybe my not being online has more
to do with my ego than I think maybe or like you know not
everyone has to be online like I think there are incredible practitioners that
never step foot on social media my my mentor and energy healer isn't on social media at all she's never she's never
posted she has no desire to has no interest in it like all of her clients come from referrals that's so good
that's how Linda is so um Linda famous on the podcast as well I feel like I talk about her all the time too but she
works with Anthony and I and we like we sat down and made her an Instagram once
that she is never touched like and we mostly made it so we could send her Instagram videos um but she like there's
a level of like Linda I'm like you're just above all of us because she's just like oh yeah the right and correct
people will just like walk into the store when I'm doing readings like she has never ever like cuz I met Anthony
and Linda when they started doing readings at hedge witch they were doing readings at another metaphysical store
that closed down a few years ago it's actually there was a trio Colby as well who like came very highly highly
recommended and we were like yes come in come join our little family so when we first started doing readings at hedge
which like we weren't flooded with bookings because nobody knew that we were doing them and Linda never gave a [ __ ] she was just like yeah I know that
the right the right people who are supposed to meet with me are going to walk into the doors and it's just going
to happen organically and it just does yeah and that's just like a level that I aspire to so hard to like not be caught
up in [ __ ] like that yeah I think that's always a green flag for me is like that trust of like yeah the right people will
find me one of my biggest red flags is biggest red flags of my ego is when I'm
trying to convince someone like I I got a comment the other day where someone was like witches aren't real and I was
like 172,000 people on this profile disagree with you but okay go off and
they were like please that's okay yeah but they were like okay prove it to
me prove that it works and I was like I don't know you anything and they're like well yes you do because you're making
content online I was like actually you're the one who's like engaging with the content and telling the algorithm to like show you more of this stuff so
maybe maybe you need to look underneath right like but um I always like that's
my biggest red flag I look out for is practitioners who try to convince me um
and I think maybe it's because I have like one foot in the spiritual space and one foot of my interest in like business
um is like I am very like my eyes are very open to like what we call Pro
marketing which is like that you know you have to you have to book with me
otherwise like the whole world is going to die or you have to book with me otherwise you're going to stay sick forever or like just that that trying to
convince trying to prove to me from that ego like I feel like once you start
seeing it it's really easy to spot versus someone who's like yeah I'm just here for service you know like my energy
healer she's so cute I literally this is my sixth year of going to see her every
other week for six years and still every couple of months she's like do you want to put another appointment on the
calendar and I'm like girl I told you just book me in every other week for the rest of our lives when you retired let
me know but do not take away my Monday at 4M um but she's still like she
doesn't make that assumption she doesn't you know she's not like you have to come see me otherwise the world's going to come crashing down you know like if
there was ever one day where I was like hey I think I'm good she's like she would be like great like keep me posted
you know um and I think like that's one of the ways that I've started to discern
practitioners that I want to work with is like how how sure are they that the right people are going to find them
versus how intensely are they trying to convince me that they're the right person for me I I want to talk about
something real fast since you brought it up already is how when you take a spiritual practice um like you know
psychic development or raiki or anything like that and you know even with the store Madison and you create business
with it and how that can trigger that ego response which then turns into a
really ethical dilemma right um and you know I I think that's it when you said
that thing about Tik Tok and the the oh don't do this with your crystals hook
them in Hook Line and Sinker I remember when I first started reading um and then
decided that oh I could I could make a business out of this I was in such a Financial scarcity moment that um and
this is calling myself out on an ethical thing that I think this is why I I think so harshly and I get really like intense
about ethics of of of magical or psychic development magical practices anything like that is because when I first
started reading and I was trying to develop a community um uh following or
even just like find clients people to read for it turned into such a like if you're not liking the ad that I'm
putting on Instagram that says I'll be reading at hedgewitch or I'll be you know I'm open for virtual readings today
like I would get so scared because I was like I need to make this money I need to make this money and it it became about
business and not service it was a scarcity mindset and it's actually funny because meeting the Hedge witch family
and Madison and Christie and you know Christie really taught me and Madison
taught me about the scarcity mindset and how to just always know that you're going to have everything and when I
realized that and really adopted those thought processes of the true and correct people will come to me and I
will I don't need to worry about making money because it's going to happen I will always be taken care of that is
when it actually all started flowing and that is you know and I'm still building things but like you know I I think it's
really interesting that you talk about the business aspect because that I think that's what triggers a lot of Ethics issues is when you put a dollar amount
on what you're doing now it becomes like a whole another ball game well think about like if we think of the chakra
system finances is so in the root that basic needs that fear response and so if
we don't feel secure there we are going to respond out of fear which means our ego is going to take over to protect and
so yeah I had the same thing like my first year um that I was doing this
full-time the income was not steady it was very much like I'm good for the next two months and then I don't know it
could all come crashing down it like felt so precarious that literally I was my root
was so wonky I couldn't tap into my creativity I couldn't create content from a place of fun I had to create it
from my ego because if I didn't get the clicks that meant I'm not going to get the money and and like it's very easy to
come crashing down and I look back on that time now and I go like I wouldn't book me either like I of course I had
issues because I was not like in my you know I wasn't like [ __ ] people over
but I was really clearly like not being honest that I was trying to figure it out I was fumbling everywhere and I
think that's one of the reasons why like my raike training was the thing that ended up helping my business create
stability is because that was the one thing that I refused to change when I went through like business coaching programs and I had coaches telling me
like you have to do this you have to do this you have to do this in order to make money I wouldn't touch my training program I was like that training works
is working let's try something over here let's try coaching let's try one-on ones let's try readings like let's try
something else and eventually I just said [ __ ] it like I'm just going to lean into what feels good and what feels
right and that was the training and and everything changed for me once I started doing that but I think my biggest advice
to people like I tell my graduates all the time don't quit your day job like
don't don't like have that steady income so that you can make decisions from your
intuition rather than from that Financial scarcity like it's better to be in a job that is sucking you dry and
putting in a little bit of energy into your business to grow than to not be in a job have more freedom and your root
freak out and jump into your ego and make decisions from there and it's better to build a business slowly
because if you take the time and build that Foundation slowly you will create such a strong Foundation it's like
getting it's like going viral over one video and getting 10,000 followers and then none of those followers
commenting on the rest of your videos right it will crumble and so to build it slowly really does give you the
opportunity that's what I did with look at Orange Theory baby orange theory coach I did that I was dying at Orange
Theory I would go in for three hours to coach three classes and it felt like I worked nine hour days and then I would
still go home I would meditate I would do like little virtual readings if I if
I had some you know but it did enable me to stop being so like stop living in
that scary mindset it it enabled me to do a free reading because I wanted to give back and you know stuff like that
so I agree I I think that that is a really um that is a really cool like way
to think about like how do you not let your business and the dollar amount put you into that ego mode that puts you
into that ethics mode and it's yeah I think I think when it when I think about the intention of service I always think
of like serving without um the need for
anything back and when we're in that scarcity place we literally can't be in
service so I think you need to be in a place where if you are going to do this as a business you don't need anything
from the other person you don't need their validation you don't need their referral you don't need their money granted you know like we need money like
we shouldn't work for free or whatever but like you don't need your ego doesn't need it or like if their payment plan
falters you're not going to be out on the street next month like that's what your system needs to be able to tap into
your ethics and your intuition in general yeah Madison how do you relate that to the
store it's so that's where it like is like a little bit complicated because I
don't know we've gotten to a point now where like the store does provide like it provides many people a steady income
which like I am so grateful for and like I can't too yes one of those people I really
like as you were talking I was thinking more about about like my readings that I do like very much on the side and how
we've talked about readings and how true that really is that like I would go so
far as to say that it is a green flag for practitioners if you're looking for
someone to give spiritual services like I think that our ego-driven brain seeks
wants to seek out people that like that's their only job because they're so booked and so busy but it really is to
me I think a green flag and not to say that this is like you should only book with people who have a day job but what
we are able to do like so Anthony reads at spell crafter on
Wednesdays we talk about it sometimes like when you get to a certain point of like how if you have like a certain number of bookings you'll book the rest
of your day out and say like this is how I know I can give three or four really
good readings to people if I take away that opportunity
yeah to earn more money you know like knowing ourselves to
a point where we can say like oh okay like I have a reading day coming up at the end of the month I have three bookings right now and I'm like okay I'm
good with that number because I feel good about my ability to do three readings in a row yeah I might book
myself out for the rest of the time whereas if I didn't also have the store
that pays meh it's much easier to make that decision from the place of like no I
need that extra $60 like I'm going to hustle and get one more reading and then be a worse reader for it like
myself to the place of now I'm underperforming yeah and that you know
the store is very much like a different thing I think where I really see the
ethics of the store come through is like in the people who come in and how we interact with them you know we've been
in the process of hiring someone new and it's interesting like hiring at a
metaphysical retail job versus like hiring at a normal retail job where it's like you know in a normal retail space
you're like what's your retail experience like you're like what's your Sun Moon and Rising that is literally we
did ask um but like this is not a job that is sales
heavy in that like when someone walks in a lot of times people are coming in in a
really vulnerable state very similar to getting a reading and there will be people that will come in and Mom and I
talk about this all the time of like being able to recognize somebody that you could tell them they needed anything
in the store and they would buy it because they are hurting so much that they need they need answers so much they
need like they they feel like they need something recognizing those people and
being really [ __ ] honest with them you know like there have been times
that people have come into the store come into hedgewitch like that have been coming for years and I know like there
was a there was a time once when Mom looked at someone and said like I know that I could sell you this book right
now but I know that in the past six months you have bought 15 books yeah how many of those have you read be
honest and so do you like really think that buying another book is going to
solve the problem whatever the problem is like there are people that come in asking how to do a certain spell and I
could say you need the top 10 most expensive things in the store to do this thing yeah and it's it's easy some s to
spot the person who would be like okay like this is just what I need to do this is what will make it better like I'm I'm hurting and there will be a lot of times
that I just I will tell people like what they can do with what they have at home and I'll give someone all the options of
course obviously like at the end of the day we are a business and so you know I don't just stand out giving free advice
all day as much as I would like love to do that but I think ethics really come into play with how you present the
information of like here's what we have that is good for XYZ here are some other
things that we might not have here's where you can find them here are things that you might have in your pantry that you can pair with these things you know
like yeah giving the full range rather than being a salesperson and that is
where it's a hard line to follow and again you have to like check
in with your ego and check in like do my numbers for the day are those numbers
impacting how I'm speaking to this person yeahh can I talk about the energy
flow of ethics and how can I I'm going to talk about this um please do but like
it relates to everything that we've all all three of us have talked about now with the readings with teaching and
everything is when you come from an ethical place of a place of
service that's how I I I really do feel that's how hedgewitch and spell crafter
have become so successful and so so good and so popular in such a community is because people know they're safe right
so the same thing with with your business Molly and with mine is I do feel that people feel safe and when you
are being that ethical that that service first person it creates an energetic
pathway that just everything flows right because when you're going when you're operating out of ego and you're oper it
causes you to be more unethical like like for instance reading for people when you're tired when you should have
definitely booked yourself out booked yourself like when we say book yourself out we mean like close your cut close
the calendar or close off the last three booking so nobody can book you know you should have done that but you didn't because you need to make some money and
whatnot now you're not operating out of service you're operating out of scarcity and that creates a blockage it creates a
a restriction of energy right and when you cut yourself off so that you can rest the other readings are better those
people are going to go to everybody that they know they're going to say how cool the shop was how great the reader was
how good the raiki practitioner was all these s of things it creates an energy flow that just leads to success right
and you know I think that's a really important thing for those of you are listening here who want to create a
business or who want to take their spiritual Evolution and their spiritual practices and further it to that you
know you're G to have a point where you're GNA it's going to be a performance you're going to have a moment where you're going to need to
make money all these types of things it's just very very important to see the big picture and see the long the full
journey and not just that moment and passing up that could
$120 willit you the fure or not that $1,000 Crystal will actually create a
more business in the future I think it's important to think about those things when it comes to ethics and also ego
yeah for sure I think that's something that we experience in the store a lot like that is where I've really learned
to not let the money a person spends like I don't get tied up in that
because I can feel the difference and I know people feel the difference because they tell us all the time when they
don't have that experience somewhere else cuz other people can feel it when
you are in that that place of scarcity yeah and you know like the reason that we like metaphysics are 100% like on the
rise like it is becoming quote unquote trendy now but it is still a niche market if I was in it for the wealth and
Fortune I don't know that I would have chosen a metaphysical store you know yeah and so remembering that and getting
back to that place I see the way that we've been able to build community here and people that are very comfortable
telling me when somebody else is not doing it like we are you know like I know about all of it yeah because people
are not afraid to tell me so and that's how I know that we've created a safe environment that that's where people
want to spend their money like as I see the overarching like
societal theme kind of swinging towards shopping small like people want to do that people want to have experiences
people want to go places and have like a an authentic experience somewhere that is
where people want to spend their money is with people that make them feel safe and make them feel included and make
them feel good yeah totally yeah I'll do it I'll spend my money there I will too
I feel like we could talk for 17 hours I feel like I want to have a whole
discussion just the three of us about like business and spirituality so if anyone's interested in having a part
