0:01Welcome to Demystify Magic with Molly and Madison.I'm Molly, a former skeptic turned full time energy healer and teacher. And I'm Madison, a born and raised witch running my family's crystal shop. And we're here to explore all things woo through the lens of both science and spirituality, so that you can find the moments of magic in your everyday life and create an intentional spiritual practice.0:20So if that's what you're into, find a cozy spot, take a deep breath, and let's demystify some magic.Howdy Doody friends. It is a howdy and a doody friends day.We are here at what feels like the ass crack of dawn it.0:37Is very early for both of us.It is.It's it's 9:15.It's it's 9:00 AM, but we normally record at 11.And you know what?In my defense, like, everything is all wonky right now.So wonky. This will have already happened by the time you're listening to this podcast, so just know that everything is fine, probably.0:58Probably, but there's a hurricane.Coming tomorrow and of course I'm like, OK, what's your number one priority?Get the podcast recorded. What are the things that need to happen before you might lose power for multiple days?Record the podcast.I have a coffee tasting at 11.1:15The important thing?I have to go put a couple buckets under some leaks.Very big day. But, you know, hug a Floridian. It's hurricane season. But that's not what we're here to talk about. We're not here to talk about hurricane magic, although I wish we were.1:32Oh, that could be fun. That could be fun.You know what?I'll come to you on the other side of this hurricane with some good ideas.OK, great.I'll add that to my hurricane To Do List. Also ask me what I bought for hurricane prep.Bottled water and just one Sam's Club box of Uncrustables.1:49Relatable grape or strawberry?Grape.Nice.Yeah, that's the correct answer. The classic like if it ain't broke, don't fix it.Yeah, yeah.Anyways, today to go easy on all of our nervous systems, we are doing an upgrade.2:09I guess we could call it a redo.I I was thinking about this recently actually, like it's been over a year since we started this podcast. One of our first episodes was on the new moon and the full moon, and you couldn't pay me to go back and listen to that episode. We recorded it almost two years ago though, 'cause we recorded that in like November.2:29And the person who recorded that podcast, I don't know her.Like I, I don't know that woman. And so today we are we're revisiting. We haven't listened. So if we say the exact same things that we said two years ago, I guess our practice hasn't changed that much.2:49But we thought, you know, yeah, consistency is key.But we thought, you know, why don't we really like look at what our practice looks like now and redo that episode because so much has changed since we recorded those early episodes.3:04So we are going to do a redo of our new moon and our full moon in the next.Few weeks.Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.So I'm very excited.I think it's going to be fun.It was fun to like revisit an old topic.3:21Also, I just want to know that Madison and I wrote the exact same ritual at the exact same time and she fully thought I was stealing it from her and I promise I wasn't.It was, we were almost fighting before this episode started recording because I wrote a sentence and then she wrote the same sentence.3:41And so I deleted the sentence that I had written 'cause I was like, oh, OK, like Molly wants to write that one. That's OK.We work in a shared.Doc we do.And then I wrote a second sentence and then Molly wrote the same second sentence and I just look, here I go, you took mine.3:58And she was like, no, no, I wrote this and I and I expanded on it and I was like, no, but I wrote that and deleted it because you started writing it.And she was like, I was trying not to look at what you wrote. So we are so In Sync that it causes accidental beef.So can't wait to share that one with you.4:18Can tell it's early 'cause I was a grouchy but first.Molly, what was your magic moment this week?I was so excited about my magic moment because this was the coolest.I don't even want to say coincidence because it just seems like such a low probability that this could happen that it just felt like the universe was like, here is a gift of serendipity for you, Molly specifically, and no one else.4:47So I, I have two favorite musicals of all time.OK, as a theatre kid, my favorite musical of all time is called The Urine Town, Like Urine Like Pee, which is about a town that has a drought and you have to pay to pee. It's very funny.5:02My second favorite musical is Little Shop of Horrors. Now I will tell you both of those have been my favorites since I was 1516 years old. You're in town.I have seen, I have worked behind the scenes of You're in Town. That's why it's my favorite. And Bobby Strong, the male lead, is my favorite character in any musical ever.5:22Like my dream if you were like Molly, what if I if I had a genie who could just give me a wish right now, it would be let me play Bobby Strong just through act one finale of year in Town so I can sing the act one finale because that is my favorite.5:38Favorite song to belt in my car.OK, Little Shop of Horrors I had never seen on stage.Actually, I had never even seen the movie until last fall. And as we know, Little Shop of Horrors dominated my Spotify rapped last year, so I just loved the movie soundtrack my whole life.5:56OK, a gun quit Playhouse, which is like a big deal.Playhouse near my hometown in Maine was doing Little Shop of Horrors.I went and it was the greatest show I have ever seen in my entire life. And tickets notoriously are expensive there. It's like more expensive to go to an Agunqua Playhouse show than it is to go to a day at Magic Kingdom.6:17That's like if we're putting it in the scope.Yeah, put it in terms I can understand.I go it is the greatest experience of my entire life.Like full body chills the entire time.I was like, I want to see it again.I really like, I've never gone to a show and been like again, again, again, again, again.6:36It's like when you get off of your favorite ride at Disney, I was like, again, I get an e-mail the next day that says it's the final week.Tickets are $30.I was like, I'm in, go to another matinee.I'm like geeking out.6:53I'm in the parking lot.And I'm like, OK, I've never listened to the stage production soundtrack. So I put on the 2003 version and I was like, wow, Seymour sounds so familiar. He sounds just like Bobby Strong. But I was like, the odds of the same actor being on both of my favorite musicals are so low.7:10This must be just like generic white boy musical theater. This just must be what men sound like.Yeah, So I'm rocking out.And I was like, it's so good. And there are a few moments where I'm like, yes, Bobby, no Seymour.I get on my Instagram Stories and I'm like raving about this show.7:28Someone slides into my DMS and says that show's incredible.Did you know that Hunter Foster directed it?Hunter Foster, who originated the role of Bobby Strong in You're In Town and played Seymour in the 2003 version.7:46I was like, it is the same guy. What are the odds that my two favorite musicals are connected by the same actor who then directed this show that I just saw?Twice. That's an impressive level of recall.Like, I don't know what the odds of that happening are, but it feels so low that I was just like, this is this is a gift for me.8:10This is a gift for me.And now I am a Hunter Foster super fan.I he does not update his Instagram, so I don't know what he's doing next, but I will be there.I will be there. We love to see it.Oh man. This podcast is not sponsored by Hunter Foster.Hunter Foster, if you want to come on the podcast, please.8:31I don't know what we'll talk about, but we'll figure it out.We can sing suddenly see more. We'll have to tone it down like 5 octaves to hit my vocal range, but like we could sing it together. But it would be fun.It would be so fun if anyone knows him.8:48Slide slide this episode to him. What was your magic moment? The way that you just looked at me with such, you forgot that that was your.Line I was just so excited.I just like I can't get over.I've had I've held this in for like the last week and a half and it's all I can think about.9:05Molly finished her sentence and then just like, looked over into the like, over into the horizon like, ah, hunter I was.Like.And that's our episode, guys.Bye.No, my magic moment is much more low key, but I was really excited about it is it was, I had such a moment of like practicing what I preach and it was connected to the equinox.9:33That was this past Sunday. It'll have been another Sunday while you guys are listening, but whatever. It was 2 Sundays ago and I always tell myself that I'm going to do so much more for the Sabbats and then I wake up and then the Sabbat is tomorrow and I'm like, oh shit, I planned nothing relatable.9:54The autumn equinox is also known as Mabon in the Wheel of the Year. And I always think of Mabon as like Friendsgiving because it's the first harvest festival. And I was like trying to put something together where we could do something like all of us at Spellcrafter, like the staff.10:14And that wasn't working because some people were out of town and whatever, whatever. And then I realized that I double booked myself and that Drew and I had dinner with our two friends and I was like, oh, like we have this dinner with like people who are not with you, whatever.10:29And we got there, we did hot pot and Korean BBQ.And that is not at all like the quote UN quote vibe of Mabon. But it was so Mabon coded that I was like, I am doing my Mabon ritual.10:48This dinner is a celebration because I'm with friends.I have a like a true literal bounty of food.I am surrounded with meats and vegetables.I ate a potato which feels very harvest coated.Yeah, very root chakra coated.11:07Some spicy broth I was living. It was the best and it was just like a really good reminder that I needed that.It can be easy, it can be low effort.I don't have to, you know, like I do build. That's the one area I feel like I still really build myself up with, like how exciting things will be Sawin this year though.11:29Oh, we are doing it for Sawin. And by that I mean I've put it on the Spellcrafter calendar, so we have to do it up.So if you're local and you want to spend Sawin with me and Linda and Anthony and the rest of the Spellcrafter team, you know what to do.11:46Link in the show Nuts.If you're local to me and you wanna spend saw in helping me move out of my house.Could be fun. That's what I'll be doing. What a metaphor for the for the journey between worlds. You know, the veil is thin, the veil is thin.12:02The veil between your world and the next.Hopefully not too thin.Hopefully we stay in this one.But let's get started. We have a little bit of a list put together for you.Let's do it.All right? Those of you who have listened to the original episode know that I think I talked about some chores.12:19I'm pretty sure when we recorded that, that's when I started implementing the chores as new in full moon rituals in my own life, and I was very excited to share it.Now that is like what I've become known for, Like your girl's writing a book about it.12:36A book about chores. And so I have 3 chores that I think are new moon coded.Now.Should we explain again what the new moon energetically is, in case people haven't listened?Yeah, the new moon physically is when you can't see the moon, like it's also called the dark Moon.12:57Energetically, at least, at least in our practice and kind of like the generic, you know, I'm not even going to say most people, but just like the, the way that the new moon is known is it's a time of calling in think of like a fresh plate, an empty plate.13:13You get to put on it whatever you want at the buffet. So it's a time of manifestation. It's a time of getting organized. It's a time of taking action.Yeah, my I always think of my favorite TikTok I've ever seen when we talk about the moon.Because if that's not what you fuck with on the new moon, just replace full moon or waxing moon or waning moon every time we say new moon.13:37Because my favorite TikTok ever is someone talking about manifesting on the full moon. And they got a comment that was like, you're not supposed to do that.Like the new moon is only for manifesting. And they replied to the comment and they go who told you that the moon?Did the moon tell you that? And so if you feel really called towards manifestation on the full moon, go for it.13:58Go for it.Take everything we say with a grain of salt. There are no rules. The moon did not come down and tell me this. And that goes for anything we've ever said on this podcast ever, by the way.Yeah.Anyways, chores that align with that idea of manifestation, calling things in, taking action, getting organized.14:18This is the time to look at your schedule over the next month.I am notorious for this. This is something I still do.We're on the new moon.I'll say, I'll look at my calendar and I'll go, holy cow, what was my boss thinking? My boss, 'cause I work for myself.14:34What was my boss thinking?Piling all of this stuff on me, but really rearranging your schedule so that there's space. And then looking at the things that are on your calendar and asking yourself, is there, is this aligned with my priorities and my values?14:52Right.Cause a lot of times we can just schedule things on the calendar that we feel like we have to do and then we don't leave space for what we want to do.For instance, if I wanted to manifest playing Bobby Strong on you're in Town, I would probably need to make space in my calendar for vocal lessons, right?15:10So that I'm prepared for when it comes to the local theater for auditions. So true. And so if that was what I was manifesting actively, I would be looking at my calendar on the new moon and going, OK, where are my vocal lessons going to be?Where am I putting those vocal lessons in?Right?15:25So simple, but makes a profound impact.Profound impact. The next one is meal prep. This could be as simple or as elaborate as you want to.It could be just making a list of the meals that you want to make in the week and then going grocery shopping.15:43Or it could be as elaborate as actually like doing the individual container thing with the food in each so you just pop it in the microwave.Which if you are a person who does that?Meat.I wanna talk to you.I wanna be like you.I need I wanna be you.I I need you to tell me how you do it.16:00I need you to take me to the grocery store and hold my hand as we walk through the aisles.I need you to Take Me Home and hold my hand while we cook it.Mm hmm, I need you to hold my hand while I actually eat it because I'm notorious for meal prepping and then not eating when I meal prep.16:18I'm like all that effort.I need you to show up at my house and say it's lunchtime.Madison.Yeah.You're not going to Chipotle. This is so unrelated but related in a way.I saw a friend of mine, she walks her elderly neighbor's dog every day.16:34And I was like, I wish I could hire you to walk me every day, to just show up at the same time every day and be like, OK, Molly, it's time for your walkie. And then we go on a walk like, I want that.I want that as a service. That is such a good idea.I think that's just, you know, we like.16:50So I when I used to have my old job, me and my coworkers would go on walks and runs together.Cute.And then everybody like moved away.Nobody lives where we used to live anymore, and so now we just text about.17:07It.And I say that we haven't done it in months.Yeah, but we used to.We should just do that.I'm manifesting that I have some really nice neighbors in the cul-de-sac I'm moving. To who will walk you?Who will walk me and wanna walk with me like I'm manifesting like some 30 year olds with dogs that are nice dogs that Herc won't try to eat, that work from home, that just want to walk me every day.17:30In my new neighborhood it is mostly older people, so maybe I'll have the reverse where an elderly person will come to my house and walk me.Cute, cute, cute.Cute because older people in Florida are active as fuck. They're so, dude, my dad plays pickleball for like 90 minutes to three hours a day.17:50He's like, yeah, I just had a short pickleball session. There's only 2 1/2 hours. It was like, Dad what? It's so impressive.It's.So I'm trying to get in with them so bad.So wild I'm like is this a is this a youth problem?18:05And my dad also scrolls TikTok more than I do so it's not like a screen time issue does.He just have more hours in the day.Your dad's tired.Retired.Yeah.There we go.That.Yeah.His job is to play pickleball, kind of his.Job is to play pickleball.18:20His boss put together his schedule.Yeah, play pickleball, complain about his pool guy. That's my dad's job.Scroll TikTok.Anyways, so meal prep. The real difference between this episode and our first New Moon episode is that we're not afraid to go off topic this time.18:43I'll never go listen to those old episodes, but if I did I bet it would be like here is very organized, curated.List.Thanks for the notes.Bye.Oh, that was before the Howdy Howdy Doody days too.The Howdy Doody days, better days are on us.19:01OK, so meal prep, but also like walking is relevant. So if you if you want to.So I do this in the new moons around now because it's starting to get darker earlier and in Maine I am like a shut in when it's dark at 4:00 because I don't adjust my work schedule.19:19So when I worked a nine to five, I literally did not see the sun for three months because the sun would not be up by the time I got to work and then it would be down by the time I left work.So now that I control my schedule, I have to physically change my work schedule.19:34Like I have to put in my calendar.OK, we're shifting the work schedule or we're creating space in the middle of the day to go outside because I'm manifesting not being a shut in in the winter months per usual.OK, so aligning your schedule, meal prepping.19:51The third one is decluttering something. This could be a big something like your entire house, as I will be doing on this new moon. This could be a little something like the junk drawer in your kitchen.Or your sock drawer or something.20:08But thinking about when we're manifesting something, we want clarity, right? We want clarity so that when we take action in alignment with that thing, we don't go off course. And so physically decluttering your space is going to help clear some of that stagnant energy.20:25And think about this like if you were manifesting, just use like a really silly example, like buying all your Christmas presents ahead of time and having them wrapped before Christmas Eve.OK, decluttering. Now your gift wrapping, you know, box, you're finding your scissors, finding your tape, having it laid out so that you have everything, making a list of what you're going to buy for who that is going to make taking action towards that goal so much easier so that you can actually get that done versus having everything chaotic.21:00Like I can never find my fucking scissors. When it comes time to wrapping gifts, I don't know what it is.I have designated gift wrapping scissors.Do I know where they are?No, anyways, decluttering something something that it, it doesn't even have to be something related to what you're manifesting.21:15Just the act of decluttering is going to bring you that momentum and clear some of that stagnant energy. So those are my three chores for you.Looking at your schedule, meal prepping, decluttering.Yeah.And I think decluttering is so important from the perspective of that like making space physically making space is such an easy way.21:34It's like almost like a mind muscle connection of like being able to see myself making space for something.Yeah, love that. All right, next on our list is my favorite thing to do for any moon, which is take a bath.Take a bath.21:50Do you have a bathtub now?I do have a bathtub now.The Dream Life is Good did not have a bathtub last time we recorded.I hadn't.I haven't had a bathtub in years. This is this is a big.Upgrade for you.I know this new moon is about to be fucking lit.22:09And what I love so much about the bath is that, first of all, it's great for both the new moon and a full moon.Because the moon, the moon rules water, you know.Duh.The tides. That's the element that's most closely associated with the moon.I love the moon.22:25The cancer rising in me is like, yes, give me the moon bath.Give me like I love to go out and put my little feet in the water. And so even if you don't have a bathtub, like a little foot bath situation, you know those little things that they sell or like put your feet in a bucket of water.22:42Yeah, we gave some non bath recommendations in that first New moon episode.I think there's one like that was like a salt scrub or something.Yes, and also like all these things can be done with a shower too. That's what I did for all the time that I didn't have a bathtub is, you know, light a candle when I get in the shower like I would kind of like, do at my shower more.22:59A bath, though, I do feel like can kind of be the ultimate low maintenance because literally just sitting in the water is connecting with the energy of the moon.Yeah.You can upgrade that by making a little herb sachet, adding some salts.I love to do some candle magic, which we'll talk about a little bit later, and bring that candle into the bathtub with me.23:19Not into the bathtub, into the bathroom.Don't bring your candle in the bath water and fire. They don't really mix. You're not gonna have that candle for long. But I love to like create an an experiential situation.Have you seen that woman on TikTok who her husband like makes her themed baths?23:38No, it's where do I get one of those?I know.I don't know.At the husband store.Yeah, sorry, Justin, we're going in for an.Exchange.My husband just installed a bathtub for me.I mean, jeez.Well he does like Paris themed baths.23:54Cute.That's really the only one I can remember off the top of my head. But like there's like a snack, there's like a a candle, there's like accoutrements. That's like all in theme.Cute.Do something like that for yourself, you know?24:10I love that. What is the oh oh oh OK This is like the ultimate upgrade, right?First step is find this woman on TikTok.Watch her bath Tik Toks.Second step, steal her husband.Second step, steal her husband.Second step, kidnap her husband.24:28But the thing that you are looking to bring in and manifest, what does that person like?Create a themed bath around that? What is the person who has that like? What is their snack? What's the snack that you're going to eat after you have that thing?24:45He sometimes, like, will frame little pictures.I think.Like I think during the Paris bath, there was a little Eiffel Tower picture in the bathroom.Like go crazy, go stupid.Music have the book.Have the book about the thing.Yes, right.Like we're gonna talk about journaling.25:01Bring your journal.Wait, I love this.Create an experiential.Bath OK, I'm doing this.Me too.I love that.Yeah, make yourself a little herb sachet. Also, this is a tip that not everyone knows, but I'm about to make your life easier.25:19If you like to put herbs in the bath, don't just throw them in Willy nilly because then you're going to have to clean your bathtub after.Put it in one of those organza bags you get when you buy crystals.Or you can put it in a sock and tie.The sock and throw it in the back.25:36That is revolutionary.Yes, yes, somebody, somebody commented that on one of my videos and I never forgot it.I was like you, person, genius. Also if you have like those things for loose tea.Yeah, those work too.Using those, you would obviously have to use less herbs, but you know, yeah.25:53Or you could brew a tea. What I'll do sometimes is I I like to drink mint tea in before bed and so I'll brew some mint tea and then I'll just pour a little splash into my bath.Excellent.This is something that you could also do in the shower is like make that tea and then put it in a little spray bottle and spray it in the shower.26:10Or just drink it in the shower.Or drink it in the shower. You know, there was a time in college when I drink beer in the shower and now I'm drinking tea.I was just about to say it's like the witchy version of a shower beer, although I like, never really understood that.I once tried to drink a Celsius in the shower when I was in college or like some kind of energy drink where it was like, OK, like, I've got to, you know, get ready to go out.26:32Everybody loves a shower beer.I'm going to like have an energy drink and I'm like, there's too much happening.Like the water's hitting me.It's getting warm. When I was in my gym bro phase of my life I used to drink protein shakes in the shower.I hate that too because I was like, because I was like I had to get my protein in before within that 45 minute window so I would just chug it in the shower.26:55Milk and another situation of milk and warmth.You.We heard how that went for me last time.You.That's why you chug it.You can't like sip it.No, I don't want to.Even my body thinks that you're making me.27:12The response? That my body is giving is is if you told me I have to drink a protein shake in 45 minutes.I had a roommate in college who drank Capri Sun in the shower. We would always find the.Little now that I'm.Like what are you doing?Tiny straw, that's what I need.Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.Anyways, drink your tea in the shower.27:29Or don't you know, sometimes we don't have to have it stack.Maybe have your tea after the shower or before the shower. There's so much time around your shower, you know.27:46Anyways, it's giving silly goose time today.Next.Next on our list is an oldie, but a goodie, a classic. You know her, you love her.Make some moon water.28:04You could do this in your bath.Congratulations your bath.If it's happening on the moon, it's a bath full of moon water. But the thing I love so much about moon water is again it's versatility of like if I forget to make moon water but I filled my water bottle up before I went to bed, Congrats, I have a bottle full of full of moon water.28:24If you made a soup on the new moon.Moon soup.Moon soup. That sounds like a that sounds like a bad indie band. That's our band. That's our band, our bad indie band. But this is something that I talked a little bit about during the Back to School episode.28:43Making like a spray batch.Make your moon water.Literally.You could even just buy a jug of water, put it under the moon.OK, there you go.You can divide that up into however many sprays you want for like different intentions. You could make one for your manifestation.29:00Cute.I love moon water.Love moon water.I know someone who mentioned they go to like Costco or Sam's Club or whatever around the new moon. They buy a case of water and they just leave it in their truck bed.Oh, that's really funny.I was like, that is so like if I could encapsulate the listeners of demystify magic in a sentence, it would be that.29:23I know it.Would be that.I always know that the the moon, the full moon or the new moon is coming because at least 10 people send us that TikTok of the Pickles of.The pickle jar sitting out.Yes, that's how I keep track of the full moon.29:40As well I'm like oh gotta check the calendar the the pickle talk is coming around.Oh, that's so funny. That's so funny. If you haven't seen the video, it's a jar, giant jar of Pickles on like outside in a parking lot.29:55And someone's like, oh, someone's charging their Pickles in the full moon.Uh huh.Next time somebody sends it to us, I'll put it on our story.Yeah, OK.Next one is the one I stole from Madison. This is a journaling idea.30:13So you are going to journal what you want to call in, what you want to manifest, but also what actions you can take in your daily routine to get you closer to that.So remember our motto that 2 minutes a day is more effective than 60 minutes once a month.30:29So what are those daily actions? So if you want to manifest playing Bobby Strong on, you're in town, right?Maybe it's a vocal warm up while you're making your coffee.I'm really glad that we've continued this metaphor through the.Episode this is on on my bucket list so I'm like speaking to myself 2 years from now when we record our next new moon episode, it's gonna be me talking about how I played Bobby Strong on You're In Town.30:56In two years when we record this, it'll be when we spend 5 minutes talking about the moon and 45 minutes talking about dumb shit.Anyways, so if you want to manifest, say abundance, maybe it's 2 minutes a day of checking your bank account and your budget and making sure you're, you know how much you can spend for the day or whatever.31:21If you are manifesting, getting more movement into your day, maybe it's taking a walk, right?Parking a little bit further away from the grocery store. So finding those daily routines that you can add, again, smaller is better. And then if you want to upgrade this, you can steal Madison's really good idea and write it on seed paper and then plant it, watch your manifestation grow.31:49And then I wrote you can feed it your blood, which is less witchy. But also, as I said, that I'm like, that sounds real witchy. It was witchy if it's more supposed to be a little shot of horrors reference. But now I'm like, yeah, I mean that.32:04Sounds like some Pagan shit.Yeah, I mean, give it some of your blood, but don't give it too much.Don't start killing people for it.Yeah, as we know.So if you've ever been to the healing hedge witch around the new moon, you'll see that we have a little bucket out where you can write your intentions and we have them on little strips of seed paper, which is where I came up with.32:29This was when we started 'cause we knew we wanted to have something out around the full of new moon. And so at the full moon it's just regular paper and then we burn it at the end of the at the end of the full moon. And I was like, OK, well, how do we do something different for the new moon? We're like, oh, seed paper. They sell seed peeper in bulk on Etsy and it's not that expensive.32:50You just said seed peeper.Oh, that's what they call me when I go out to my garden.I've really gotten Molly like quite a few times during this recording.I would never made you laugh so much.33:07Right before we started, Molly texted me that the vibes were rancid. They're not anymore.I've really turned this around for her not to brag. You really have anyways seed.Paper for the seed peeper in your life Seed.Peeper seed.Peeper pretty easy.33:22Make your own journal out of sea paper hand bind a new journal That sounds very easy. You can.Make seed paper too.You can use dryer lint and wildflower seeds.Oh fun.Don't ask me for a recipe, but as I'm writing my my book in the laundry room there's a section on like magical ways you can use dryer lint.33:44Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. And someone told me they make paper out of it.And I was like, that's fucking brilliant.Oh, that's.Fun.I have a friend who make seed paper and like makes her own paper a lot in workshops around Saint Pete and she's going to come do one at the store I think around the winter solstice.33:59I'm very excited about it.There you go.Stay tuned.Stay tuned. All right, last on our list is a little bit of ritual. So I am a candle magic stand.I will always be a candle magic stand. If we're time at ritual, I'm probably always going to talk to you about candle magic.34:18Shocking.Shocking.She does have a new moon candle by the way, which is great, which is one of my favs.Love the new moon candle from healing hedge witch. That's my first. That's my low maintenance recommendation is a new moon candle from healing hedge witch.34:35My little bit of a higher maintenance recommendation is making your own with A7 day candle or even like honestly low maintenance.High maintenance is to find a 14 day candle, which if you know what a seven day candle is, it's a like a long kind of skinny candle that's in glass and they're called 7 day candles because if you just lit one and left it burning, it would burn for about seven days.35:03A 14 day candle is same but bigger. It's honky. It's like a seven day candle for a giant.Exactly.A7 day candle for a giant. And so I use 14 day candles for things that I know that I'm going to have for a long time.35:19So for example, I would do my new moon candle.I have a 14 day candle because I'm like the new moon happens forever.Yeah, yeah.So if I'm going to burn this once a month, that'll maybe last me 14 months.I just want you to know that my new moon candle from the Healing Hedge witch has lasted me at least 14 months.35:38That's impressive.I I burn it for like a couple hour.I burn it while I'm like cleaning my house on the new moon.Yeah, that tracks. They have like AI think they have like about a 35 hour.I have no idea, I haven't finished one yet. That's impressive.Yeah, I'm close on the the what's the creativity one.35:57I'm very close on that one.Yeah, we also have a New moon mini ritual kit that comes with a little bit of seed paper and some some new moon tea lights.Yeah, those are fun.So if you're looking to try out a little ritual, that's a great way to do that.36:13You can do it all in one day, or there's enough for like 1 mini ritual the day before, the day of, and the day after.I like to do it that way because it feels like extra magic. But if you're making your own candle, I usually recommend black for the new moon and white for the full moon.36:29But what I've taken to doing is literally like writing my manifestations or writing my petition or my intention, like on the glass of a candle with paint pens. But what you can also do is write your manifestation on a piece of paper, fold it up and stick it under the candle.36:47Oh, I like that.I also think that the new moon is a really great time to leave offerings.I don't know if this is how anybody else does it, but it feels like it just feels right to me.Like the new moon, it's like dark.It feels a little bit extra like reflective.37:03It's a time to go inward, in my opinion. And so I like to honor my guides, any deities I might be working with, and show appreciation.Yeah, I feel like this is a good time to mention 'cause you mentioned the ritual kit, you can do before, during, after.37:22You don't have to do your ritual right at the peak of the new moon like the energy lingers for.I like to give myself three days on either side to be honest.I mean, some people will disagree with that cause the moon cycle, but the moon is always changing so who the fuck cares?37:40Unless you have a one second ritual, you're not doing it at the peak. And so if you miss the new moon, no worries. If you wake up and all of a sudden the pickle jar video is on your for you page and you're like, Oh my God, I missed the new moon.Don't worry. You can do it that day.You can do it the next day no problem.37:57Yeah, I love that call that like, the moon is literally always changing.Yeah.And so there's absolutely no pressure.Yeah, Zero press. If you take one thing away from this episode, it's that you can listen to it anytime and do any of these rituals and they will still work for you because you, my friend, are the magic.38:17You are the magic, and the best thing about working with the lunar cycle is that if you miss the new moon in two weeks, you've got another moon to work with, and two weeks after that you've got another new moon.Yep, Yep, you got it.You got it.38:33You got it.You're gonna do great. This is something that I, I do that I've done for years, even before I was like witchy when I was like an advocate and on support line calls and we always used to talk about the support line was nutso around the full moon because it is put the new and full moons on your calendar.38:51Like do it now for the next year.I have a, a calendar that I don't even know where I got it but like some dude updates it every year and so like I have all the moons and everything that's just auto updated.I if I can find it, I'll put it in the show notes.39:06But truly I don't remember. But it is a huge help.So that's what I that's what I do and it's free and it's some dude named Canton who makes it and I have literally been using it for probably like 7 years.39:22I have no idea.Good dude, good dude.So we'll drop that in the show notes for you.Show nudes shoe nudes for.You in the show nudes for.Ya.Yoinks, all right, Did we do it?We did it.39:39Go us.Go us.OK?Happy new moon.Happy noon.Happy noon.Bye.Thanks for listening to Demystify Magic with Molly and Madison. If you want to learn more about us, you can find all our links in the show notes. We'd love to know what you think of today's episode, so drop us a review or give us a shout out on social media.39:57And don't forget to let us know your magical moment of the week.OK?Love you.Bye.

If you want to learn more about us, you
