0:01Welcome to Demystify Magic with Molly and Madison.I'm Molly, a former skeptic turned full time energy healer and teacher. And I'm Madison, a born and raised witch running my family's crystal shop. And we're here to explore all things woo through the lens of both science and spirituality, so that you can find the moments of magic in your everyday life and create an intentional spiritual practice.0:20So if that's what you're into, find a cozy spot, take a deep breath, and let's demystify some magic.Howdy Doody friends.Howdy Doody Day.We are back with another part of our Demystify Magic live show.0:35If you haven't listened to our episode from 2 weeks ago, I guess it was.We shared the first half our tarot reading and the most interesting meditation we've ever experienced. If you've if you've been to a more chaotic meditation, I want to hear about it slide into my DMS.0:55But now we're back with the second part of that experience, which was a Q&A, a live Q&A extravaganza.I'll tell you, I really felt like, I don't even know I I felt like a real cool kid with my microphone.1:11I Something you should know about me.This is going to shock no one.I love a microphone.Put a microphone in my hand and I shine.Meanwhile I had the true moment of like oh God, I am severely under qualified for this position.1:30It's really it was really fun to see the yin and the Yang.We were both experiencing the full scope of the human experience right next to each other.Yeah, but some really great questions that some of which I was like, wow, I don't think I've ever been asked this before. It was really fun.1:46So enjoy it and let us know what you think and get ready for the Chakra series next week.At this point we've by the time you listen to this, we've already recorded a few of them.So if you have questions, submit them.Yeah, time is running out.OK, enjoy.2:03Enjoy.We're gonna open this up to AQ and A now, so if you have a queue.I have a sort of serious question. So I've been on this little like spiritual journey for like 2 years and you know, of course you encounter people that automatically say like, oh, tarot cards, you're worshipping Satan.2:18And I've never heard anyone since I've been on this journey ever even mentioned Satan, maybe like bad energy. How do you guys respond to that?Or what's your take on that perspective from people that aren't into this stuff?Oh hey, if you want to worship Satan, I mean, I'm not here to yuck anyone's Yum.2:37So of the two of us, I think I am the one who has directly been asked if I worship the devil. So I do have direct experience in the field and I hold space for that fear. And like, so for context, I was asked directly if I worship the devil.2:53When Hedgewidge first opened, it was like we opened in November of 20/21.It was probably like December of that year. And I came in like I came in with a lot of judgment when somebody asked me that question. And I was maybe kind of the asshole in that situation because I instantly go to the place of like, oh, fuck you, like whatever, you know, you just want to start something, whatever.3:14And then when I told her, no, I don't personally, that's not my journey. She just goes, oh, OK.And then like bought something from the store, which is not what as as like my mom and I, my mom's big fear was that somebody was literally going to like throw a rock through a window when we opened.3:29Like that is kind of the reception that she was prepared for. And, and OK, in response to the answer to that question was like dream come true. And so I think the important thing there is recognizing, recognizing that that that's coming from a place of fear.3:45And often when it's people close to you, it's fear of people who care for you.And I hold space for that. And not like this sounds like maybe condescending, but I feel bad for someone who is afraid of things like that. And so give them the same level of care that they're giving you, even if they're not showing it in a way that maybe feels good all of the time.4:06At least that's the kind of that has made it easier for me to swallow when I reframe it in my mind is compassion rather than, like, malice. Can I give a really nerdy history lesson?Yeah.OK for a history lesson. So the Satanic panic was actually a very over exaggerated in the media.4:27So it came from.I learned this when I was an advocate because I worked at a a child advocacy center, which is essentially a place where kids who disclose abuse go to get interviewed by a neutral party who's trained to do forensic interviews of kids.So they're trained in non leading questions so that the kid doesn't have to go tell their story 16 times and then get torn apart on this on the stand.4:49And that research of forensic interviewing came out of the Satanic panic of like the, I think it was like the 80s or whatever, but it was essentially this daycare that these kids were interviewed over and over and over and over about an alleged abuse.5:05And there's because they were interviewed with all these leading questions, their stories evolved to like dungeons and Satan worshippers and like all these things that turned out to, there was no evidence for and they created all these false memories. And so because of that, it became very sensationalized in the media and very feared in the media.5:25And the good news out of it is now we have like children's advocacy centers and forensic interviewers that we know like, oh, if we ask kids leading questions, they're going to just answer the way we want to.But it just goes like to that fear piece is there was a very intentional fear campaign around it because they, I mean, it was kids, right?5:43Like every parent in in the world was like, Oh my God, I send my kid to a daycare. What is happening there? And so I think just looking at the history of the fear of Satan worshipping and understanding that a lot of it is fear based rather than like based in reality, I think helps me become really compassionate to it because then I can kind of speak to like, you know, like, no, like just because we're, you know, witches doesn't mean we're Satanists just because we're witches.6:17We might be bitches, but you know, anyway, so there's a really good podcast, it's called You're Wrong About, and they have an episode on the Satanic Panic.Highly recommend over whatever the book was that I read because that book was traumatizing. So I'm not even going to reference it.But yeah, if you want to geek out about that, highly recommend.6:34I have two questions.I don't know, Should I just ask them both?Yeah.Sure, OK.The first question I have is do you have any tips for somebody who's looking to build like a more intentional structured morning routine that will help me kind of develop eventually a practice?6:54You know, there's like the thought of like waking up and doing your hygiene and then journaling about your dreams or stuff like that.So I'm like looking for something like that and I wanted suggestions.I think my biggest thing is like I like to create a morning routine menu because as someone who has a squiggly brain, I have a hard time telling myself I have to do something in the morning because then I will just put it off and scroll my phone instead.7:22So you can make yourself a little menu.I like to do it based on like how much energy I have.So like a low effort, a medium effort, a high effort, depending on how much energy you have in the morning. And maybe the low effort is like pulling one card or taking a deep breath or like stirring a sigil into your coffee or whatever.7:42And then maybe the medium is like doing a three card spread or doing a journaling exercise or, you know, meditating. And maybe the high energy is like some combination of that or a longer meditation, or maybe it's a movement practice.7:57Maybe you go outside, I don't know, could be fun.But making yourself a menu so that your morning routine gets to be like even just the idea of tuning into your energy level and choosing something is a practice.Like it will start to get you more in tune with how am I feeling?8:14How am I doing?Where is my energy at?And even if you just pick like something super simple on the on the list, it's going to start bringing you more into your body and into your energy. That was the perfect answer.I was going to let you handle that because you were the one with the morning routine.I'm still working on that one.8:30Not quite the morning person. My morning routine right now is reading yeah, because I can't stop, won't stop. So, but also we do.We have a whole episode on low effort morning rituals. So I know what you're listening to on your drive home.My other question was kind of on the other end of the spectrum.8:49So what would you all say or like?Do you have any advice for somebody who's looking to eventually start a business doing Reiki?I know a really good.Reiki training?Sorry, there's a couple graduates in the room.9:07Yeah, I think having a strong foundational like self practice is the biggest thing for me.I think that is the piece that when I noticed it lacking in my life, I see the difference in our in the business.9:23And so I know that that's maybe like a roundabout answer of like less. That's like a more meta answer. But that is what feels most important to me is like when my personal practice lacks, my professional practice lacks and I can see a real stark difference of like when the disconnect comes in.9:40So I think like bringing you back to center is always a really important part. Can I geek out about that because there's some science behind that my, my level 1 grads in the room? No.So the reason that one of the reasons that if you go through any like reputable Reiki training, the level one's always going to be focused on self.9:59It's heal or heal thyself. And the reason for that is because when we are doing Reiki, we are just a watering can. We're just a channel. It's not my energy that I'm doing.Like there's nothing special about me.I'm just a conduit for the energy.I'm just like a lightning rod getting struck by lightning, sending it to the ground or sending it to whoever, OK.10:18And So what happens is when we are channeling Reiki for other people, you are also receiving it at the same time.So imagine if you had a watering can that was totally full and a very thirsty garden bed, and you start turning that tap on, right?10:35You bring that Reiki and you turn that tap on, it's going to overflow and water those flowers, right? But now imagine you had that same watering can, but it was totally empty. It was completely depleted. It's going to take a lot longer for that water to get to the flowers, right?10:52Even though that's what we know a watering can is for, right? That's the goal of the Reiki session is to give that energy to your client. When we are depleted, our body is basically like, I need give me and on a physiological level, So you have an electromagnetic field around your whole body that we're all like responding to.11:12It's the reason why like if I was like super jittery and nervous, you'd be like.On edge, right? It's the reason that we're Co regulating up here.My emotional support, Molly. And So what happens is that electromagnetic field of your heart is between 60 and 100 times bigger than the one in your brain.11:34And what we know about humans and really any any animals with a heartbeat is when there's multiple beings in the same space, their heartbeats start to synchronize. So all of you are Co regulating with us right now. There was this really cool study.11:49It was done in London where they hooked audience members at a a live theater performance up to a heart rate monitors. And what they showed was during the first act, the whole audience no matter where they were sitting started to synchronize in their heartbeat. They stayed synchronized during intermission and for an up to an hour after they left the theater.12:07So you're affecting people the moment you walk into the room with them. Now imagine your Reiki practitioner. You show up and they are frazzled. They have not gotten a good night's sleep in weeks. They have not gotten a Reiki session in months.12:23They're so stressed to the gills and they say.I'm fine.Have fun, have fun. That's fine. You know that meme where everything's on fire, right? You can feel that that is your first impression. That is your first impression and on on a practitioner level, that practitioner is sitting there with imposter syndrome, right?12:44Is this even going to work?Right. The confidence goes down. But when you are centered, when you are grounded in your practice, when you are truly embodying walking the walk, how different do you show up?13:00That first impression completely changes because on an electromagnetic level you are changing the environment before that person even walks in, and then your heartbeat is synchronizing with them.So if you start from a grounded place, then your client has a better opportunity to receive that energy, right?13:20And so it's.All.About you.It has to be your Reiki practice has to be about you. It's like I always say, like people ask me like what, what, what does it mean to be a Reiki master?I say I teach from the inside out.I teach from the inside out.13:37I don't get nervous when my students ask me questions because I've asked those questions, right?Or I can look inside my own practice and find the answers. And that's what builds confidence as a practitioner. That's where we get past that imposter syndrome, that wondering if I'm doing right, wondering if it's going to be good enough, wondering if you're going to be feeling enough, whatever, right?13:56That gets us in our head, that blocks that flow of energy. And that's when we come into our body and we say, just for this breath, I'm not going to worry about it.Just for this breath.I'm in a hold space.Just for this breath, I'm going to be a watering can, knowing that I am not responsible for this person's healing.14:13I'm just here to hold this space. And by doing that, you empower your client to take responsibility for their.Healing, and they heal better.Or, you know, you could just come through my training and I'll teach you how to do it.If I hold a crystal, I can feel stuff.14:32If I hand that crystal to my husband, he looks at me like I'm insane.I'm like you don't feel it.And he's like no I don't feel anything. What is happening there?Do we have any idea or do I just need to find a different husband?14:52I mean, that sounds like a personal question. That's a that's a sitting in the in the gratitude or the yuck or whatever that card said. That's an off mic question answer.I think it depends, Molly, you talk a lot about the curious versus the judgmental skeptic.15:10There is a level of like if people can only feel what they give permission to, to feel. And so if you, you know, it's almost like an open channel or like a like a dam.15:25If you, if you block the dam, if you, you know, block off the river or whatever it is, nothing's going to flow through that energy's not going to flow through. The water's not going to flow through. So it could be like a this, I don't want to feel this thing because I don't think it's real and I think it's bullshit and fuck that.15:42Or on the other side of like the curious skeptic, not having a certain experience is also like people experience energy in different ways. And so I don't know if you mean like physically feel something or energetically or like a knowing feel something, but it could be like, oh, I smell something when I hold a crystal, but I don't really know what that means.16:03And so I'm saying I don't feel anything. You know, there's like a different two sides of that coin of like, if you are open and you're not having an experience, then it might be time to like open up and see open up to all senses or to all ways of knowing or feeling.16:20Or it could just be like, you know, the channels blocked.I have an analogy that just came through. In a shocking tournament. And I will say I have a rule that I never use alcohol based analogies in my work because I work with a lot of people in recovery.16:36But I, I literally this dropped in as like a like, there's no other way to say this.So I see it as right, drinking wine. You can be a sommelier, you can be someone who just enjoys a glass of wine, or you can be sober, right?16:51The person who's sober is never going to experience the notes in that wine, and the person who's the sommelier is going to taste a lot more notes than the person who just enjoys that glass every once in a while. And so I think when it comes to working with crystals, working with energy skepticism, there's like this spectrum, right?17:09There's the people who are just now closed off to it, never going to try it.And there's the people who are the sommeliers who are very like a lot of you all who are, who are actively working on deepening your intuition and understanding the different notes of like, OK, I'm clairvoyant here and clairsentient here and claircognizant here.17:26Those are all those different notes. And then there's some people who are just in between who are like, I think rock is pretty. And so they they're not gonna experience the notes in the same way.And I see that with with crystals and like introducing people to energy work is like your sommelier.17:42OK, he might be someone who enjoys a glass of wine every once in a while. He might be someone who does not care to drink at all.And it's not for you to make that decision for him.He has to make that decision.Favorite thing about you and I is that I feel like you're you're an an analogy generator where it's like I put in my jumbled thoughts and you spit out a perfect way to say what I was attempting.18:07Yeah, yeah, I feel like that analogy worked. What do you think? To make it a crystal. You're like the Rock Tumblr. There we go.Thank you other.Questions So Madison put oils in our little goodie bags and I was just wondering if you could just like talk about like the different types that you did and like when you could.18:28Use.Them 'cause I'm somebody who doesn't.Use oils a lot, but. It'd be interesting to know why.So for those listening who were not here when we missed you and two and everybody got a little goodie bag that included a Spellcrafter roll on oil.And.And a cookie from chicken Salad Chick.18:47And.And a handmade by me mouse pendulum.A farm to table mouse pendulum, one might say not a real farm. It's a metal mouse.19:03It's not a real mouse.You.Imagine if we if you all opened your goodie bag and there was just a pendulum in there.A dead mouse. You would all be like.I'm a live mouse and I was like, Oh no, I would eat your cookie. It's got to be dead.19:20If you give a mouse a cookie it's I think it's either quantum jump, self love, banishing or return to sender.I could be wrong but regardless I use them in the role and they're meant to be kind of like aromatherapy.19:37I will like put a different one on before I leave the house every day.I use it as like a, it's like a part of my, I guess that is my morning routine. That's, that's really all I got.But that's how I set my attention for the day is like, OK, I'm getting ready.I have these oils in front of me like what is what am I looking to bring in today?19:57And it kind of forces me to like sit and have that moment of intention. And so it is both like an aromatherapy and like a ritual product. You can also like if you want to use it for a candle.I usually I would use like a dropper bottle oil for that, but you can just like I know people will rub them on their fingers and then rub their fingers on the candle or like if you wanted to rub the rollerball on the candle directly I guess you could.20:19Doesn't work that well. But you can use it all of the ways, but I usually use that as like a skin thing.Try a little sigil with it.But mostly it's like a, a different way to set an intention even just because like reading what's written on the label and taking a second of like, oh, OK, I'm gonna bring that in today.20:40And this is the, this is the energy that I want to come to the rest of my day with. And there's a little affirmation on the roller bottle too, so you can say the little affirmation while you roll.It you don't know that the affirmation itself is on the bottle.I lie.I you can write an affirmation.20:57On the bottle. You could write an affirmation in the oil on your arm if it's very, if it's short enough, yeah.So when did you use something like?Quantum Jump.I'll speak to that.I would love to quantum jump.21:13OK, so Madison developed quantum jump like as Spellcrafter was like opening, right? What was the story of that?I remember it was like one of those moments where it was like you're quantum jumping. That was the first thing that I knew I was gonna do when we decided to open Spellcrafter 'cause.21:33You and I say that all the time.Like I feel like I jumped timelines and I brought you with.Me A yeah, 100%.Hundo P Hundo.P We the Spellcrafter came about in like a very weird way.My mom and I had like just just oh, that was air conditioner that startled me.21:51Sorry.Lily, you can cut that out.We had just.Dumped into.Like a, it's, we call it the warehouse. It's not a warehouse. It's like a big room, but but some warehouse space to move inventory and like to move our maker space.22:11And we had toyed with the idea of opening a second hedge, which for years now.And my mom looked at me and was like, now we have to open a second location.Like we have all the space for stuff like things to do and then she goes, but it can't be hedge.22:27It has to be something different. It's going to be more like you.And that felt like the quantum jump. And it came in almost like I knew that there was going to be another line of candles because I have like Hedge, it has its own line. And I've loved making them. And it's been really foundational to like the store and its growth.22:45And people have responded so well to them. And I've been, I've felt so blessed to be a part of so many people's practices through that. That felt like the foundation of this, that it was going to be that, but the way that I've always wanted to do it, where it was going to be like true all in one spell work.23:05And I sat down to like write it out and the only thing I knew was that there was going to be quantum jump because I like that is what we were.We were really in a period of like everything was like.Yeah, it was nuts.It was like.Every day I felt like we were sending a message of like, oh, everything feels different.23:23Yeah, we would set a goal like the podcast definitely is like is a quantum jump for us because we would set a goal of like, it would be nice if we hit like 10,000 downloads by the end of the year and then Lily would e-mail us and we'd be like, OK, I guess we did that in a week. That's cool. That's no, that's fine, that's cool.23:39It'd be cool if we hit like top 100 in the spirituality charts. No, we're in the top 12.That's cool. That's now we're number one. That's fine. That's cool.So I really see like quantum jump as like if you could imagine you're standing in a hallway of opportunities and the one that you really want is just beyond the door.24:00It's like kicking the door in and stepping forward. It's like you saying I'm ready.Bring it and then just stepping into that new timeline where you already have the thing and allowing it to come to you. That's quantum jump to me.24:15Yeah, I actually have a really funny story about quantum Jump.So my mom, this is, I promise we're gonna get back to Quantum Jump. It's we're it's not gonna sound like we're getting there. When I graduated from high school and moved away to go to college, my mom adopted a cat.24:32She needed a replacement, and she adopted this cat.Her name is Piper. And Piper, like me, left her in that. She decided she wanted to be an outdoor cat.She was chasing pendulums.Yeah, truly.24:49She went to she went to chase pendulums on a greeter pasture. She was not having it.She would not be contained. And so that was eight years ago. She's lived outside and every night, maybe sometimes every other night, she comes home for dinner, gets one or two head scratches and then goes back on her merry way.25:07And it's been like, the kind of a joke in our family that, like, you know, she was abandoned again by her replacement. But in the past, like, two months, Piper has decided that she wants to be an inside cat. This happened after she, like, had an injury, I don't know, fighting with the other street cats, Who knows?25:28And we brought her to that warehouse space where we keep all of the candles. And Rachel actually made this comparison where she like, brought it to my mom.Rachel is someone who works at the store where she was like, oh, Piper spent all that time with Quantum Jump.25:45She jumped into a new timeline where she lives inside because she is not only wants to be an inside cat, but like wants to be the center of attention.Wants you to scratch her.Like, wants you to give her treats. She's scratching on a cat tree. She's taken little naps. She's hanging out like she's friends with my parents dogs, like a total overhaul in her entire behavior and personality.26:06So now it's our joke that my quantum jump did it.Can I share a quantum jump story?OK, so we had this conversation.I don't know if we made it publicly available, but I've always wanted to write a book. It's been like on my bucket list since I was like 15.I don't know.26:21I don't care what it's about.I was like writing a book of puns in college, which one day will be published. So just stay tuned. But I said to Madison, I was like, people keep asking me to write this book. They keep asking me to write a book. And I'm like, I don't like the whole, I want to do it right.26:37I want to do like the whole publishing thing and the book tour. And I just Oprah's best seller list.Like get me an interview with Drew Barrymore, you know? And I said to Madison, I was like, I am just putting it out into the universe that like the path is going to show itself to me and it's going to be easy.26:55And then I made a video where I mopped my walls with quantum jump. And a week.Later my literary agent slid into my DMS.She was like hey I love your podcast let's chat.Did I mention the Venn diagram on the pod?27:12She specifically works on spirituality books and social justice workbooks, and she has ADHD.Margaret, I love you.The only thing that will ever make me want to wash my balls, Something I've never done in my life.27:28So we're big fans of Quantum Jump.I don't know if that answered your question, but. Many roundabout ways to get there.Big, big, big fan.But I I think like Quantum Jump is the is the scent of the podcast.Yeah, for me, it's my favorite thing I've ever made, is the truth. It's my favorite thing you've ever made.27:44Besides this podcast and the mouse pendulum, have you guys ever dabbled with spirits and if so, do you have any advice with Spirit World? You're looking at me.Well, I wanted you to talk about Daniel.Oh yeah, we have a Caleb update.28:00Oh yeah, the Caleb update is that his name is Daniel. So Anthony, who you guys met you?All know Anthony, you know are good for.Anthony, he's a medium. So yes, I, I spent a lot of time with him specifically.Like this store also feels like a big, like that feels like the, the door for me of like launching into other ways of connecting spiritually.28:24It's always been cards for me until I really got to get close with Anthony and Linda, who also works here and reads at Hedgewitch. And they've both become like, really like mentors to me and I'm very grateful for them.So it's been in the past like year or two that I've started to kind of dabble that way.28:40We've done a lot of that kind of stuff in here.Like every time Anthony and I are alone in the shop, if nobody's in here, we like have the dowsing rods and we're asking because there is a little boy named Daniel who will open the door.Every time I'm peeing in this place, I have to like triple check the door every time I go to the bathroom because the door is open on me like three or four times with people in the store.29:03It's opened while it's been locked. It's been very frustrating. So now like like he has Hot Wheels sitting in the back. It's like a please, maybe we're maybe we don't do that. But I guess in terms of like tips, the biggest piece of like, I don't know if I even want to call it advice.29:19The biggest thing that comes up for me is that like things are not as scary as people make them seem.Obviously like energetic protection is important, but it's like not the end all be all.I really do believe that your intention does protect you in a way of like, it can be that easy.29:42It can be setting the intention of like, I only want to communicate with spirits that are most aligned with my highest good.Any negative energy can go back to where it came from.I'm not yeah, I'm not interested in communicating with XYZ.29:58So I guess really just like everything's OK.It's like my advice of like don't, don't feel stressed or scared because not that there's no reason to.I don't want to say that like there's nothing bad ever, but like. There's less bad than our little brain, our cute little brain likes to believe.30:16Yes, especially like people will talk a lot about like attachments and, you know, demons or any like, you know, negative attachments that can latch on to you.And it's like our human nature to go to the worst possible thing that could happen.30:33But my thought process always at least the same thing.I think about aliens of like if like if an alien passes by Earth, they are not interested in us.Like we are not as interesting as we think we are.You know, like they're just gonna keep driving by in their spaceship.Like large negative entities have bigger fish to fry.30:53I think I told this on the pod before, correct me if I'm wrong. So I grew up in a skeptic family.Shocker, I know. And but my mom when she was in her 20s, was a she called at the time ghost hunter.31:08I think we would call it a medium now.So my mom, like the biggest skeptic on the planet is like all into paranormal, right?Like, and so I grew up hearing these ghost stories, but I didn't hear the ghost stories that you see on TV or the ones where it's like, you know, Scream or all of those movies, right?31:26Ghost stories I would hear is, you know, the spirit in the house would wake the family up when the apartment was on fire because the fire, the smoke alarm didn't go off and like save their life or the ghost would like, you know, basically like bring awareness to, to, to harm that may come to the, the family.31:45So I, I'm a big believer that spirits, if they're coming to you, they're more likely to be coming, coming to you to help than they are to harm.Because they like what?Like honestly, like if you're in the spirit realm and you're coming to be a Dick, like I don't think you're that powerful.32:04It's like the school bully, you know, like we all know now that we're adults, Like the school bully was actually like the really insecure person.Like, I think the same thing of, like, asshole spirits, like most of them are there to help you not create harm. And it's just our cute little brain has that survival wiring that we latch on to, like, a little this ghost story, the scary ghost story.32:25So I think like, yeah, like energetic protection is important, but also like recognizing where that fear may come from is also important. And also, like, my theory is that people who have a lot of that fear experience have more of like a negative interaction with spirits in general because that fear is more of an energetic fuel than the common piece that comes from people who have like a a more open mind.32:54Theory incoming.Okay, what if the spirits are like us in their wiring? They must have similar wiring right to our cute little brain. So if we come in with fear. Then what if they come in with?Fear, because they're afraid of us.33:10They're like spiders.I don't like spiders.More afraid of us than they are, and then we are of them.I I doubt that, but like, OK, so imagine you're walking down the street.Any a lot of I'm sure some of you have had this experience, but you're walking down the street and like there's someone else on the street and you're the only two people on the street and you're instantly like, right, a little nervous of that person.33:34What if they're if they're also nervous, then you're both gonna be acting kind of sketchy and then you just get more scared. What if spirits are the same way, right? You're scared of them, they're scared of you.You both act kind of sketchy and then you go, wow, that's it.I knew it.They're a Dick.33:51We'll have to ask.I do have a Ouija board in the back.Oh, I, I will tell you, I used to use the Ouija board when I was a kid again, like the whole the universe was like, Molly, come on, join us.But I was like, you know, Ouija board. And I remember one time I was, I had a sleepover with my best friend and we asked what's for breakfast and it said waffles.34:13And then I remember my mom opened the basement door and was like, girls, your waffles are ready. And I was like, how did it?No.You've never told me that before. That's so silly.I know.I love that most innocent use of Luigi Bird ever in the history, in the history of mediumship.34:33That's incredible.I know, I know.So anyways, final.Question so I am going to be moving into a new space soon so I just want to get your advice on like how to kind of enter a new space and get it like protected and worded and everything. But also coming into any spirits or anything that might be in that place and be like hi I'm not trying to kick you out or harm you just kind of wanna live here cuz I signed the lease as well.34:56So should we rapid fire?Yeah, yeah, let's rapid fire, okay?Something as you were talking, my grandmother, she she's one of my guides and she she passed a couple of years ago, but it was right after we bought our house and she mailed me a bag of Jolly Ranchers.35:17And she said it was a tradition.I think it's a Jewish tradition.I'm not sure.Don't quote me on that. But she said after you close, when you open the front door, you have to throw the Jolly Ranchers or whatever candy into the house so that your life is sweet. And I just thought that was so fun.35:33Yeah.And we like, I think we still have some of them, like in the freezer. But it was just like such AI think like ritual like that.Like, you know, I'm not a big elaborate ritual person usually, but it was like this really beautiful moment of like, yeah, like that's my intention for my house.35:49I'm going to throw those jolly and it's going to be silly and it's going to be cool. And then we did like a big smoke cleanse. And then something that I really like to do when I I move into a new space is I make a big crystal grid.So I'll like pull cards and I'll pull crystals for my collection and I'll, I'll make it in the center of the room when there's no furniture and I'll just like make a big old, big old thing.36:11Like whatever cards I pull, you know, sometimes I'll grab like flowers or like whatever's around.I just kind of like grab based on intuition. And then I let that sit overnight before moving the furniture in.And I love that.I love that practice of just like just you can like feel it in the space and it also looks really cool.36:28You mentioned warding plants are my favorite wards.Oh yeah, they are one. It's one of my favorite.Like to me, it feels like a ritual to take care of my plants. It's like a a space of time of like, I can only focus on this one thing and I'm taking care of something and giving life to something.36:47And something about that feels like it brings really good energy into a space. But also they absorb negative energy really well.So get a lot of plans.I love that.I feel like we should do a whole episode on movin Magic title.Let's do it.Thank.You.Thank you.All right.Last question, Last question, Who's got it?37:05Who's got it?I keep seeing I'm gonna pronounce it wrong.Akashic records pop up a lot lately, mostly on targeted Instagram ads.I know nothing about them.I was trying to read about them a little bit.Do you have any experience with those or maybe a good explanation?37:22Fun fact, when we started the podcast, we opened the Akashic records of the podcast. And so the first, so the Akashic records are basically like as as a skeptic, I'm gonna explain it to you as best as I can.I think of it as like.37:39A.Library of energy. So you know how like energy can never be destroyed or created, right? So it's the same energy that's existed for eons through all of our, you know, past lives, our ancestors, the way the world has, you know, from Pangea all the way to here, right, or whatever.37:58It's like being able to tap into that energy that has existed and almost like pull out a book and ask a question and open the page.So you have an Akashic record, your car has an Akashic record, your business has an Akashic record, your house has an Akashic record.38:16It's like, think of this library of all of this energy. So it's like this space has an Akashic record. So like when it was a dance studio, the energy that was in there and before it was built and before it was colonized and all of that, it's like being able to tap into that energy. So when we started the podcast, I was just learning how to open the Akashic Records from Krista Mitchell.38:37Highly recommend if you want to.If you want to learn Akashic Records, go Krista. And so I opened the.Podcast and we asked questions like, you know, how does this podcast want to be birthed? And like we were, we were all ready to like write down a marketing plan and it was like, let it be easy.38:56We're like, okay. And we even asked like what, what kind of episode should we make?Like give us some titles. And that's where we got like the low effort series and the full moon episodes.Like all of the first probably dozen episodes came from the just asking the Akashic records, like really like using using them as like our guide rather than trying to guide it from our logic brain.39:20And it was often times there was moments I remember being like really not gonna do like a big launch thing. We're just gonna like mention it and it and like my, my logical brain was like, no, we gotta do like a whole launch and we gotta do an e-mail campaign.Like my business brain was like, we gotta do all these things and people have to hear about seven times.39:38Before they subscribe. And and the Akashic records were very clear. They're like, no, just just show up, just show up and share it and the people will come. And that has been true over and over and over.So it's like, I see the Akashic Records as this place that you can tap into for guidance.39:56And it's also a place where I think our like soul's journey and the lessons were meant to go on live.So you can almost like get insights into your soul's journey and insights into like, what am I meant to?40:13Learn or experience or grow through in this lifetime. And yeah, it's just, it's just a very interesting place. It's definitely a place that like the skeptic side of my brain battles with sometimes.I won't lie to you. There's still moments where I was like, I don't know if this is coming from my brain or if this is coming from the Akashic records, but we're just gonna go with it.40:34But I think more and more as I've worked with it, that skeptic side has gotten quieter and quieter as I've started to see more and more evidence of like ease whenever I work with the records.I love the Akashic records.I think like going back to the idea of a quantum jump like an Akashic records reading.40:54I and this is also maybe because I had one during like a very transformative quantum jump period of my life.It was right after I had moved back to Florida. If anybody is interested in an Akashic Records reading, I have I have a wreck.Highly recommend. We should bring her on the pod and just do a nap on the Akashic record.41:12It's my it's Linda who you've heard me mention before. She the first time I ever met her, she was reading my Akashic records. And I don't know that I wouldn't I would have like believed you that she had not been spying on me for 25 years.Like the I've never felt so read like a book, so understood and so like, you know, just ripped off my skin and was like, here's all your fleshy parts.41:39Like, and there's just no better.I'm sorry there's no better way to describe it.Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's very transformative and highly recommend. It's like looking into a mirror, but like a mirror that's got like times 4000 zoom in like here's who you are and there's no, there's no sugar coating it and there's no beating around the Bush of it of like just bear it all open.42:05You know it could be fun. What what if we read some of our Akashic records reading from Demystify Magic? What y'all want to hear?I don't remember what it says at all.We haven't looked at it since. So here are here are some questions that we asked our records.Maybe we'll share the questions.42:21Yeah, It is also an interesting reading in that like, it's a you have to be really specific and you can't.Like when Linda read mine, I like had to text her a list of questions of what I needed to know, because the idea is that they're so vast that you could kind of get lost in there if you don't know exactly what you're looking for.42:42Wait, I wanna read these.OK, this is fun.OK, so the first question we asked is who is this podcast for?And the notes that we wrote is a Meadow of flowers struck by darkness and decay. The vibe is people who thought life was one way but went through a dark night of the soul but can't see a way back to the light.43:00We're returning them to the light.I remember none of this.I don't either. And then what do we need to know about this podcast? We'll be safe as long as we stay who we are. We're Dorothy in Wizard of Oz in the tornado following what unfolds.43:17You made that reference earlier today. That's wild.Don't force it.This isn't meant to change us.Don't get swept up in the tornado. This is going to help people. And then we asked, how does it want to be born with a splash?Magicians make things appear with grander.43:34It wants to come out hot and fast and big and bold.We don't have to push it.Don't try to sell it or market it.Just be excited like a home birth. What does that mean?I don't.Know and it's in the best way is in it's in all caps everything is lowercase and then home birth. How does it want to be communicated?43:53Loud, bright. Our focus should be on how to add to life, not focusing on the bad parts.Just keep showing the light. It's low effort. It's exactly what we teach. It wants to be easy.It just wants to be shared. So just stop worrying. And then we asked like, what topic should we cover?44:10And that's how we got most of our early topics. That's so fun. What a cool full circle moment to end on.That's so cute. So, yeah, highly recommend Akashic Records. They're, they're definitely like a, a, a challenge for the skeptic brain, but I think a worthwhile challenge to kind of get out of your own way and just, yeah, make something magic.44:33And that note, thank you so much for coming.Thank you so much for listening.Thank you for being just the best fucking community on the Internet.I mean, it's just, there are no words.I feel like Madison and I both are completely different people than we were a year ago in the best ways and have just felt like there's no other place where we can be our authentic self and be loud about who we are.44:57And you all have allowed us to just turn the volume dial up on that, and in doing so have given you permission to do the same. And that's been the coolest part about this whole journey. So for many, many more years.I hope that demystify magic continues to Howdy Doody all the live long day.45:17Howdy Doody, all the live long day and thank you bestie, I love you.Love you, bestie. And on
