Welcome to Demystify Magic with Molly and Madison.
I'm Molly, a former skeptic turned full time energy healer and teacher.
And I'm Madison, a born and raised witch running my family's crystal shop.
And we're here to explore all things woo through the lens of both science and spirituality, so that you can find the moments of magic in your everyday life and create an intentional spiritual practice.
0:20
So if that's what you're into, find a cozy spot, take a deep breath, and let's demystify some magic.
Howdy Doody friends.
Howdy Doody, everybody.
We have a special guest on the show today, which we have been, I don't know, teasing like for so long.
0:39
Every time we ask, like, what do you want to hear?
You're always like, can you bring Molly's astrologer on?
And so we have brought my astrologer on.
We have with us Chelsea Joelle, who is the herbalist and astrologer of Conscious Seed, who I know and love, one of my top ten favorite people I've ever met on the Internet.
0:58
We met also through the love of a podcast.
So just know if you have a friend that you listen to Demystify Magic with, who knows, a couple years from now, you could be sitting talking to them about astrology on your own podcast.
So Chelsea, welcome.
1:15
Hi, thank you for having me.
I'm so excited to be here.
So excited to have you.
So we always kick off the show by sharing our magic moment of the week.
And this is like a little moment of of gratitude or just your practice, kind of like coming into your daily life.
1:34
Do you want to kick us off by sharing your magic Moment of the week?
Oh my gosh.
Well, I'm visiting my family back in my hometown and I am surrounded by nature.
So of course, it has everything to do with nature and animal spirits and plants spirits, and there's just been so many different synchronistic moments with different creatures and plants and the moon and all that stuff.
1:59
So I'm just really grateful to be here and to allow myself to receive these messages and the love from nature and being nurtured by that.
So yeah, love that.
Love that I feel like hometowns always have their own kind of magic too.
2:18
So we have 3 sections of questions we want to ask you.
We pulled our audience on Instagram.
We are going to take them kind of chunk by chunk.
Our first section is about self astrology.
Madison, you want to kick us off?
Yeah.
So, starting at the bare bones, bare basics, what would you say is the best place for beginners to look up their own birth chart?
2:44
Well, I if this is kind of like the question, I like to look at the the four points of the chart.
Usually that's those are the biggest things that are like pretty available for all of our brains to kind of like capture be like OK, like on the 12th and 1st house cusp, on the 3rd and 4th house cusp on the 6th and 7th and then the 9th and 10th.
3:08
If anything is on those lines.
So like if you look at your circle chart, your needle chart, there's those that it looks like a big cross.
Anything that's crossing over those thick black lines.
That is a really good place to notice that something significant and big and something that's tangible and like somatic is going to be like altering.
3:29
When I first began to learn astrology, that was kind of like I needed something to be like, OK, like this is a physical thing that I can like pay attention to and I can understand really easily outside of like understand what the aspects mean because it's it gets really heady.
But if you just have a point where you're like, OK, like something like my Venus is on my ascendant going over into my first house, that's a really big key point of the chart that's going to direct directly impact your character or, you know, yada, yada, depending on where it is in your start.
4:03
So that's a really good place to like look at.
Can you walk us through it like I'm five years old?
How do I, how do I get my circle chart?
And then when I look at those things on the intersections, what do I do with that information?
4:21
Well, there's a lot of like online apps and things like that that you can go to.
They should be free.
I don't suggest ever giving someone your money to like pull your chart, especially if it's just like you looking at it.
So there's like a lot of different places that you can go.
4:38
A lot of them.
I can probably give you guys some links for the comment or the the stuff.
But for like what you do with the chart is I like to sit with it and I like to look at the elements.
So there's like colors on the circle chart.
4:55
There's like different colors.
So there's four elements and just seeing like how the elements in your chart are balanced can really help you kind of like start creating an identity with your chart.
So like, for example, I have a lot of fire and water.
5:11
And then how it how does that feel for me?
And like, trying not to like, go to analytical yet, but kind of starting with like a feeling level, like, OK, like I get energized quick, you know, like I'm quick to like make choices.
But sometimes my emotions activate because the water in my chart is so predominant.
5:29
It kind of takes me into a emotional intuitive realm that can kind of like stagnate that fire or make me doubt myself.
And just starting understanding basics of the four elements, I think is a really good place to like for anybody to start.
5:45
That's where I started years ago.
That's kind of like whenever I'm stuck with like even doing readings and stuff, I'm like, OK, well what is the elemental balance?
Or if someone doesn't know how to communicate their desires, especially if they're getting a reading from me, I look at the elements.
I'm like, OK, like how can I help them get grounded and safe?
6:02
You know, if they don't have a lot of earth in their chart or if they're feeling super emotional, you know, they're starting to tear up, you're like, OK, like how is this water impacting them?
And how can we bring balance to that water element versus letting that element have like, just take over your life?
6:19
So I like to see things as like high and low roads with every sign, with every element and not judging like too much too little, just trying to find that like balance in between like equilibrium state.
So.
Yeah, I love that.
6:34
I've never thought about the elements in that way in terms of a chart, 'cause I always get overwhelmed with like, there's so many houses and there's so many signs and I don't remember what they all look like, but elements feel so much more tangible.
And Madison and I were even talking about like doing an elemental series on this podcast.
6:50
So it's so interesting that like, that's the first thing you recommended because I was like, weird.
That keeps coming up.
Yeah, it's so they're all interrelated.
It all starts with the elements and then from there the planets are related to those elements and yadda yadda.
It's that is the base of all astrology and just a lot of like different spiritual practices too is just understanding the elements.
7:12
Yeah.
That's the thing that I like remember most about my chart and like when people talk to me about theirs, I'm like, oh, I can recognize pretty well pretty quickly if someone has a lot of earth or a lot of water like it, you know, even if I don't feel like I know a ton about all of the signs, I know a lot about the ones that are in my chart heavily.
7:35
But they're, you know, if I don't have it in my chart, I probably don't know very much about it.
But I'm self-centered in that way.
But I can see like, oh, you have a lot of air.
I know at least a little bit about what that means.
Yeah, And it can also help you, like, relate to other people, too.
7:50
And it's like, you know, we're all like, little curious weirdos and we want to know these things.
It's like, OK, well, like I'm hanging out with somebody and you want to, like, play a game with yourself and your brain.
You're like, oh, they're like really, really like chatty, like they probably have a lot of air in their chart, you know, and then you can kind of just like play with a little bit.
8:08
But like the idea of like why we even like do astrology for ourselves is to like fall in love with ourselves instead of like jumping into that like negative aspect of ourselves being like, Oh my God, you're so this, you're so that like just how can we find balance with it?
8:24
You know, like we don't have to be so everything all the time.
Like it's just about balance and being able to communicate that to ourselves.
So yeah.
Yeah, I love that.
How would you say like the accuracy of a birth chart changes if someone doesn't know their birth time?
Well, that affects the rising sign.
8:43
That is probably the biggest challenge for people is not knowing the birth time, especially like, for example, like if you're really wanting to know like about your grandparents, your ancestry, and you don't know their birth time, Like that really can kind of suck.
9:02
But that's where it comes back to the elements.
So if someone doesn't know their birth time, then you can just kind of like think about it for yourself or as an astrologer, like sitting and talking to somebody for a little bit.
You can start developing and be like, oh, OK.
9:18
Like the things that they talk about, the things that they get excited about, the things that they're instantly sharing about, the things that they trust and know about themselves.
Those little pieces of that character that start building and compounding.
You can start kind of getting a feel like, oh, that's more earth or oh, that's really a lot of air.
9:35
And then you can start with being like, OK, well, we think you resonate more with like an air rising, you know, and then we can get a little bit more specific within the air signs.
And then I feel like within one or two readings, we can get really, really good picture of what that person's rising sign is.
9:56
And then, you know, just do whole house through that instead of being like, OK, like class this and stuff like that.
So there's, there's ways to do it.
A lot of people do that.
I've done it a couple of times.
It's been really, really affirming for people who don't know the birth time or if they're adopted or something like that.
10:15
I've worked with a couple of people that haven't don't even know when their real birthday is.
And just sitting and having dialogue with them is really it's therapeutic.
Astrology has a lot of therapeutic qualities to it.
And so, you know, just listening to someone, you can kind of start picking up the pieces of being like, OK, like this seems to vibe with what the rising sign might be.
10:36
So it's definitely possible.
Definitely.
That is.
That is so fucking cool.
That is.
So cool.
Yeah, the idea of working with people who aren't even positive what day they were born, Like the idea that someone who might have thought that like, oh, I can't even like, that's something that is not accessible to me.
10:56
The idea that it really is.
And I love the idea of seeing astrology as a conversation and not like a prescription.
I think that's how a lot of people can kind of see it of like, oh, you're telling me that I'm this, this, this way.
And so that kind of back and forth is so, so interesting.
11:14
Yeah.
I was just thinking about one of the things that always bums me out of having rescue dogs.
The only thing that bums me out is I don't know their birthdays.
And I'm like, wait, you're saying there's potential I've been thinking about.
I've been thinking about Hercules.
I'm like, I wanna, I'm like, let's see, you know, 'cause I my dogs rescue too.
11:36
And I'm just like, she is on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer.
And she has both of those aspects.
But it makes a lot of sense, you know, And then it helps me like be a better dog mom to her.
I'm like, OK, she actually does need to get her energy out.
11:51
And then she actually does need to be cozy and she needs to be safe, you know?
And how can I help her find that balance within that chaos?
Because it's it's kind of chaotic sometimes, especially if you are a customer.
Do you think I should just look up our the time that I adopted them?
That would be cool.
12:06
Yeah, that's how a lot of the times when I school like business arts, yeah that's similar dogs business, two different things, but you know very.
Famously so similar.
How do we?
Know but.
Like how do we know?
I don't know I you know, but like it.
That's a.
Really beautiful way to like find that answer.
12:24
So yeah.
OK you just blew my mind.
OK note to self book book reading with Chelsea for dogs.
For my dog.
I know I'm like I'm gonna need you to add that as a service to your website Pet readings.
I know I said that I wanted to book with you to talk about me, but I have 3 cats and I need some answers.
12:50
I love it.
I love it so much I need some.
Answers I know I literally just hired a animal communicator for Hercules 'cause he's like 1 issue after another and I'm like I just need I just need to figure out his birth chart.
Yeah, yeah, I think post that experience with the the reader for your doggie.
13:10
I think that that would be really, really, I'd like to have fun with it.
I've never done it before.
Like so well be my test dummy.
All right, I'm down.
I'm down.
I love it.
Chelsea, can you share with us your sun, moon and rising?
And for those of us who know our sun, moon and rising but don't know what that means, can you help us breakdown when we know our sun, moon and rising?
13:34
What?
What does?
What does that mean?
What does it mean?
So the sun and rising sometimes get confused.
So I'll start with that.
The sun is an actual planet.
13:51
The sun in our charts.
Like when you're like, oh, I'm AXY and Z.
So for example, I'm a Leo rising or no?
Oh my gosh, I'm a Leo Sun.
We are rising, thank God.
Just kidding.
So a son, your Leo son?
14:10
Well, my Leo son symbolizes for me.
That is how on the inside, it's like my characteristics.
It's the characteristics that I share with myself.
It's how I see myself a lot of the time, whereas a rising sign, so I'm a Virgo rising.
14:26
That's how I show myself to the world.
That's how people see me.
So a lot of the time the sun and the rising sign can get confused in like friendship groups on and things like in relationships, especially within like business stuff because we it's, it's not like the rising or like your ascendant, same exact thing.
14:46
It's not like it's a mask, but it's kind of like how we present ourselves.
So like, does that make I'm like, does that make sense?
The rising is how we present ourselves, whereas like the sun is how we are characteristics like on the inside that we like.
Eventually when we feel safe, we can share with people.
15:03
That's kind of how I like to see the differences.
Yeah.
So like an acquaintance versus like a deep French.
Someone who knows you.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh.
That's so interesting.
Yeah, 'cause that sun also goes into a lot of other things.
The moon sign is all about your emotional state.
15:23
In certain types of astrology, it also symbolizes your early upbringing.
So if someone has a lot of trauma, we look at the moon sign to kind of see how it manifests.
So we look at like the house and stuff like that, that it rolls and to see if there's any other planets, like really connected to it that are like affecting it.
15:40
But the moon sign is really, really special because it's how we are to ourselves and how like on an emotional level, it's how we nurture ourselves.
It's how we like parent ourselves.
If you're trying to do some re parenting work, which is something that I focus a lot on within my own life and also within like readings and stuff that I give is how do we re parent ourselves on an emotional level, which is really hard, especially if we don't have like really good examples of it.
16:10
The moon sign can also like connect with like that early upbringing, so like our maternal connection or disconnection, things like that.
So yeah, that's like the top three.
What do you do if you have opposite signs?
16:25
So like I have a, you know, this, I have a Pisces sun but a Virgo moon.
And oftentimes those are like direct opposites and they're like fighting each other.
It's like my Pisces wants to be like swimmy and free, but my Virgos like, no, we need structure.
How do you recommend like people make that balance in in those instances where there may be their signs are opposite each other?
16:47
Yeah, honestly, I have a love affair with oppositions.
I have a ton in my chart.
They're not easy.
Not going to sugarcoat it.
It's not easy.
But when you start paying attention to it, especially when you pay attention to those elements, like really just keep it basic like that water and that Earth of your Pisces and your Virgo, it's all about finding that balance.
17:11
It's about that equilibrium.
It's about that like non dual choice.
So it's not like, Oh well, I need to lean really hard on this side because this side just wants to pull me down.
It's all about finding that balance.
And when you find that balance you, it's really important just in general with astrology to like pay attention to, like tap into, like even just take a breath and like, OK, that was a lot of air going on right there.
17:37
Like I need to cool it.
I need to just like take a second and like, let's find the way instead of just like letting it take me over because that's kind of that opposition energy is like when it's in on a low Rd. level, it's going to take you over and it's going to just be really, really hard.
Whereas when you have that balance of that opposition, you find this like sweet spot.
17:56
It's kind of like a Goldilocks, Goldilocks experience where you're like, oh, OK, this is what it's supposed to feel like.
And then you are kind of like a superhero.
Like you just kind of turn into a superhero the more and more you pay attention to that kind of stuff because it's really challenging.
18:12
But through the challenge, you find this like, new strength.
And it's a muscle that you have to continue to, like, work on.
You know, once you get it one time doesn't mean you're going to get it forever.
But it's really, it's just that constant balance.
So yeah, oppositions are favorite of mine.
18:34
That makes me feel better about all of the ones that are in my chart.
Too.
I like, I like a good challenge.
I'm a a Scorpio moon, so I like to go into those dark depth spaces.
So, you know, it's all psychological.
Yeah.
18:50
Love it.
All right.
Now moving into our section that it's a little bit more about readings, what type of questions can like can an astrologer help with?
Honestly, like almost everything, a lot of the times people ask about relationships, that's like always just if I'm giving bulk readings, that's like at least 50% if not more.
19:17
I like offering like suggestions on that, but like relationships with others, relationship with self, business choices, releases, when to say yes and when to maybe like hold back and like simmer on it a little bit longer.
19:35
Honestly, like literally anything like how should I handle myself in this situation with this group of people and this investment group?
Like it could be really simple.
Like, no, that's not simple at all.
But like, it could be really like, you know, just like just.
An off the cup question.
19:51
Casual Investment Group.
I'm just surrounded by crazy people right now.
Just kidding.
Like that's a lot of the topics right now cuz everybody's like, Oh my gosh, money.
But literally anything.
I love to help people just kind of, I curate the reading based on what is going on with them, you know?
20:11
So anything astrology is a really, really versatile.
It can be.
Really therapeutic for like self improvement.
It could be focused on the improvement of my business and how I show up.
Anything really.
20:26
It's really cool.
What's so interesting about working with you, Chelsea, is I've been how long have we been working together?
Over a year.
Because we did a little of last year. 2.
Years.
Close to two years?
I don't know, but I so I get a reading from Chelsea every quarter and originally it was just for my business.
20:47
I was like, I need you to tell me when to open Reiki training because I can't out of the 300.
And 65 days choices.
I can't make choices and she.
So if you're ever wondering why Reiki training registration opens on a specific day, it's because Chelsea told me to.
So February 9th.
21:05
By the way, if you're not on the wait list, there's the plug.
It's in the show notes.
But it's so interesting because as, as we've like evolved in our like friendship, astrologer, client ship or whatever, it's like I've seen it open up more and more.
21:20
Like I, I was, I was reflecting on like some decisions I made because of your like, because of the readings.
And it was like originally, I remember we met right when I was planning my renovation and I was like, my husband thinks we should move.
And you were like, well, if we look at your chart, yeah.
21:38
I was looking at this part of your chart for a while and I'm like always not saying nothing about this part of your chart.
And something isn't on fire right now.
Like I don't know what's going on and like trying to dig and like not be too invasive.
Like it's like kids, like one of my hardest jobs because I'm just like telling me everything.
21:57
Like, I'm just so curious, like.
I love.
It and I was just like, I don't know, this might be a better choice to just move to a whole new.
Space.
And it was and was so, and, and also I think like dyeing my hair pink was also part of it 'cause you told me to let my Leo out.
22:14
That's the Leo.
Yeah, my Leo P scene.
Yeah, I still owe you the the Venus design style.
Oh yeah, that is my that's my 2025 goal is to dress like my Venus sign.
Oh.
My God, that'll be so fun.
And so it's been really fun just to see like different ways that it's been incorporated into my daily life.
22:36
What do you think about?
So someone asked this question, and I'm really curious about it too.
They got a reading from two different astrologers, and they were two vastly different readings.
Why would that happen?
First off, maybe the astrologer got the birthday wrong.
22:53
They could have put the wrong here.
I've done that before.
But like, that's one of the things I checked in the beginning where I'm like, this is your birthday, this is your time.
Yes, no, OK.
Like cuz yeah, there's a lot going on.
There's a lot of numbers that we have to enter in.
That could be a really like simple earthly mistake.
23:13
We're all humans.
Other than that, astrology gets kind of like a weird rap because it's so it's a language and everybody speaks a language a little bit differently.
And we're in this part of the world right now of culture where some people are like all like love and light and other people are just like what?
23:40
That's where for me, I find like that middle way.
I don't be like, oh, like this and that and like, I don't know.
I'm not like here to like tell you what your future is going to look like and who you've been and what you're supposed to do.
Like, no, like we're all sovereign beings.
We all have that choice, you know.
23:56
But like, astrology is very, it's in this like interesting phase.
And what I'm really excited about with this year is that things are going to be coming into like deep clarity and we're creating like more of a boundaries are going to be changing really fast pretty soon.
24:15
So, yeah, it's, it's very interesting.
I don't know.
I'm, I'm skeptic when it comes to astrology that it took me years to like, pursue it, even though I grew up with my mom being really into astrology and like, she's an astrologer too.
It's astrologers are a little weirdos sometimes.
24:34
I love that you called it a language.
It truly is.
That is how I've described it to people is that it's like a translation, you know, like how so many, like so many people across history have translated the Odyssey and they're all such like vastly different books.
24:52
And like I see birth charts very similarly.
And it's, it's both very similar and very different to, like, reading tarot where there's not just, like, 1 definitive definition of what a card means.
Yeah.
And 10 different tarot readers could tell you that the Ace of Pentacles means 10 different things.
25:12
Yeah.
And nobody's like wrong.
Right.
Just some might resonate more than others.
Yeah.
And also it depends on the kind of reading is that's being given.
So like I don't just do Natal chart readings.
I feel like we can all, if we're like, if we're paying attention enough, we can kind of pay like understand our Natal chart because that's always the same.
25:34
But what's always changing is all the other planets.
And that's why we do quarterly readings, because we're reading the Natal chart on top of all the different planets and where they're at currently.
And so that also might have been the reason why.
25:49
So like maybe they got a reading in 2020 and now they got a reading in 2024.
Of course it's going to be different, like it has to be, you know, but like it really depends on like what kind of reading you're getting as well.
So yeah, that's why I like to do like that, that blend, because I'm already going to like be like, oh, everybody has like future questions.
26:09
So like, why not?
And probably what the focus is too.
If one person goes into the reading and it's like my focus is career and other ones like my focus is relationships, then you can read those aspects really differently.
Exactly.
Straight up.
Yeah, yeah.
26:26
So then if someone is looking for to like to get an astrology reading, what would you say are like some red flags and green flags when it comes to finding and choosing an astrologer?
I would pay attention to what they are sharing and to see how if how they communicate resonates with you.
26:49
Like I was saying, some people are like very like love and light.
If that's not you don't book a reading with them.
You know, if someone's you know, like I would pay attention to like how they live their life, how serious they are.
If you don't want something that's so serious, go with, you know, like that's why like paying attention and listening is really important.
27:09
And like know that when it's the right astrologer, you're going to feel really safe and open.
You're not going to be like, oh, I don't know.
I don't know if I want to share this, you know, So I would just say like, listen to what they have to say.
27:24
If they have like a small offering, that's not like a full commitment of like a reading because they're usually, well, they're usually more expensive.
If they have like a small offering, like something $50.00 and under, I would say like do it and like see how they communicate something that I'm doing because I only have so many pockets of time for readings this year is doing the astrology calendar.
27:47
And so that's kind of like micro readings within a, a Google Calendar, which is pretty cool.
So you can allow yourself to kind of tap in, especially if you like forget stuff with me all the time.
You can be like, oh, OK, like what's Venus doing right now?
28:03
Like, OK, how is that going to affect me?
And you have like a whole description that's like written by a human to, like tell you how it's gonna feel, you know?
So there's, I don't know if that answers your question, but yeah.
Yeah, no, totally.
28:19
I think so, yeah.
We'll leave the link to the astrology calendar in the show notes.
I have a sneak peek of it on my Google Calendar and I love it.
Yeah, as someone who constantly forgets when Mercury is going into retrograde until it's right about to go in, it's really helpful to have it on my Google Calendar 'cause then I could be like, oh, do I actually want to travel to Florida this day?
28:42
Or maybe do I want to go a different day?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's honestly that a calendar, I'm, I'm so excited about it.
It's something I've always needed as an astrologer who gives a lot of readings.
And also like, as a beginner, that's all I ever wanted.
28:58
Like when I was studying astrology, I was just like, damn, it'd be really cool if there was a calendar that I could just like check in instead of having to like Google everything all the time and like having weird things pop up.
So.
Yeah, Yeah.
Now it exists.
29:16
OK.
Are questions about 2025.
I know everyone is excited to talk about it.
Can you break down for us what are some like notable things we should look out for in the first like quarter of the year, the first three months?
OK, so.
29:33
The first quarter in a really, really, really simple way to put it is the first quarter is all about retrogrades.
We have Mars, Venus and Mercury going to be going in retrograde.
So this isn't a moment to like make really big decisions for the long term, especially involving self, because our self and our desires and our needs are going to be changing.
30:00
So something that I write a lot about is like leave space for the unexpected.
It's really, really, really important because especially when we get our expectations built up, the crash is, Oh my God, it's a whole job in itself to like recover from getting your expectations crushed.
30:19
So we have Venus is going to be retrograde in Aries and then it goes into Pisces a little bit.
That is a really, really big retrograde.
We get it once a year.
So it actually borders the end of Q1 entering into Q2.
30:39
But it's, it's kind of like prepping us for March.
March in general is going to be like freaking big.
So January, February just it's going to be like like chill more.
So whereas like once we get into March, things are going to get really, really, really big and heightened.
31:00
So it starts with that retrograde and then it's some really big things are coming with the outer planets.
But it's really important because with Venus retrograde, especially this one, it's all about change of heart and changing of our priorities based around our values and our value systems.
31:21
It's a really, really great moment to, well, moments in time where we're going to be able to make up our mind finally.
But it's more about like, it's less about like making up our mind and more about making up our hearts.
So it's allowing our hearts to know what we need versus our minds telling us what we need, you know, But it's, it's really great because it's a moment of time where we can work on our values if we're wanting to like bring a different value system into our self.
31:54
Like for me, I'm really prioritizing like my relationships instead of just like knowing who I am now.
Like I've done that the past couple of years.
This year, I really want to focus on like how I show up in relationships and how I deepen my relationships because now after the work I've done already, I, I have space for that.
32:12
I have personal boundary.
I know these things about myself.
So it's kind of like a magic moment to kind of be slow and allow these new values to kind of like hit us in the face a little bit.
We're like, oh, that's what I need to do.
32:27
Like, oh, this is what needs to happen.
And it's, it's, it's, it's a fertile ground.
It's really, really fertile.
The first quarter is enormously fertile.
I highly recommend us all kind of like allowing ourselves to reflect a lot on what 2024 was and even what 2020 was because 2020 and 2025 have a lot of connections and we need to just like prepare our psyches, so our minds and our bodies and our hearts for what is to come in Q2 through Q4.
33:02
So yeah, Q1 is, is really just a moment of reflection because there's going to be a lot of retrogrades happening.
So retrogrades are great though like.
We don't need to.
Be afraid of them.
We just need to be able to like, know how to manage our energy.
33:19
So as we move through Q1 where we're doing a lot of that reflection, like what time this year would you say would be like a really good time to start something new and to maybe step out of your comfort zone a little bit after we move through that period of reflection?
Honestly, the end of Q1, things are gonna start kicking in.
33:37
So March things are March is like, I think that month where things are gonna be like, like it's everything's just going to like start, start up.
And technically that's like when the new year technically is.
33:56
So it's really cool how the planets are aligning this year to like, make that actually feel like we're building up to this, like actual, like new era that we're like, finally we've been waiting for forever, you know, like longer than like, I was even born.
34:12
Like we've been waiting for this and we're like, finally here.
So yeah, I would say like March, is that the activation point for sure?
Can I say something so wild?
Yeah, go.
This made me think I did a year ahead spread for myself because I read tarot and my card for January was the Hangman, which very much for me.
34:37
Is that like period of reflection.
It's like the slowing down, like staying still.
And for March, I pulled the Ace of Wands.
Yeah, yeah, that fire.
Uh huh.
That fire, it's like, what lights you up?
Like bringing something new in through that like lens of creativity and passion and like the fire in your life.
34:57
And so as you were talking, I was like, I think March was supposed like, I think that that was something that came up for me when I did that reading for myself.
So I had to like, I have it as like a saved photo.
And so I just had to pull it up really quick and I was like, Oh my God.
That's so funny, I just got a year ahead bed reading as well from one of my my Reiki students and she pulled the tower card for me for February.
35:18
So I'm like, Oh yes, let's, let's break it all down.
Yeah, where we?
Built it back up, yeah.
February that that checks out.
It's because we have to have, we have to have this faith.
Like that's a big part of what the whole year is leading up to is like having faith, like having hope, not losing that.
35:37
And so in order to do that, we have to have a tower moment, you know, which is to me, how I read that is just like we need our foundation to be stronger.
Compost needs to be turned.
Like seeds are going to be planted and we need to have fertile ground for those seeds to be really freaking strong because adaptability is a really big keyword for 2025 as well.
35:59
And like, how can we allow ourselves to be adaptable and to be like prepared for the unexpected, you know, so we don't get like whipped around and like exhausted by the time things actually start up.
You know, like retrogrades have like this notorious thing where it's just like, Oh my God, I can't do anything.
36:19
It's like, no, we can.
It's just about how like, it's more about like reflecting on the things that we're doing in their choices and like our why.
Like it's, it's self inquiring.
A lot of people find discomfort in that, you know, like that's just how things are.
And hopefully, hopefully, maybe I'm just like, so wishful thinking because everything in my chart is very like dreamy and like, oh, if only this, you know, But like, if we can really get comfortable in not in knowing that, like we don't know 100% of what's best for us.
36:53
We have to like allow the universe to have space to like give us and show us what we want.
You know, like that's why I love seeing synchronicities.
And that's why, like, Angel numbers are really popular because it kind of gives us this like, oh, like, it's this awe moment, you know, we have to have that, like, magic in the everyday.
37:12
So we're able to, like, keep going, you know?
Like, being a human is like, not easy.
Like, yeah, not easy.
You know, we're here to, like, do some really cool work, you know?
And it's a privilege to be here.
So how can we love it as much as possible?
37:30
Yes, I love that.
Speaking specifically about big things happening in 2025, I'm gonna read this exactly as it was written.
The question.
It's specifically in all caps.
It says what's happening with Pluto.
Dude so excited about Pluto being in Aquarius finally.
37:51
Pluto is has been playing around like all of 2024.
It was playing around in and out and in and out of Aquarius and finally it's in.
And what's really cool is that it's not just Pluto.
38:06
Pluto is like a 20 year cycle, so it moves every 20 years.
It's really big, but we have all the outer planets moving signs this year.
So it's not just Pluto.
Pluto is going to be like kind of compounding on these other planets and how they're moving.
38:22
Like Pluto takes 20 years, we have a seven-year cycle and then a 13 year cycle with these with Neptune and Uranus as well.
So it's, it's like this compounding energy that's happening.
But Pluto, in my notes, Pluto's going to be doing, having a minor trying in between Q3 and Q4 with Uranus and Neptune, these other outer planets that are moving and it's going to be freaking magical.
38:53
It's all about like working really close with our communication and technology where we're able to like allow ourselves to be supported in new ways.
So learning how to ask for help and finding help in new ways is going to be really present, especially in that part of the year.
39:12
Pluto's doing some really cool stuff.
It's gonna be in a Kazimi really soon with the sun.
I love Kazimi's, my mom's actually.
What's a Kazimi?
A Kazimi.
Oh my gosh, that's honestly probably my favorite part about the calendar, 'cause we have like, I think 13 Kazimi's this year, so it's not.
39:30
Kazimi on there, and I know I've heard that word before.
It's such a cool word.
I love it.
I.
Don't know what it means but I like to say it.
I think it comes from like the Arabic language.
I think it translates probably gonna butcher it, but like heart of the Sun.
So it's when the sun crosses over a planet and it only is like a it's, it's pretty much like a one day transit.
39:51
But I like to kind of give it a little wiggle room, kind of like the pre shadow and the post shadow era where we can like prepare experience, be present and then integrate.
Those are kind of like the three phases of how I like to read Kazimi's and just life in general, you know?
40:09
But once it goes into that Kazimi Pluto's, we're going to like understand Pluto on a whole other level.
I don't, I think a lot of people are really afraid of Pluto because it has like this like daunting, like boom, boom, boom, you know, people have been building it up for years.
But like Pluto is all about like transformation and transformation is like so important.
40:29
We have to be open and willing to change and like we have to like, have this ability to change our idea of what perfection looks like because Aquarius is anything but perfect.
Aquarius is the humanitarian who loves people or who loves like the planet and who loves culture, but has a problem with loving individuals.
40:54
So like loving people generally, which is really kind of weird because like, what is the point?
But it's like this big moment where we're learning how to find a New Balance with the ways that we show up and communicate and transform our, our ways of like being in community, like mutual aid is really, really important.
41:17
And it's really like becoming more and more important and like in our faces all the time, you know, and that's like, that's to me, that's like Pluto showing up.
That's Pluto showing us the way of the future.
And it's better, you know, just with any kind of like planetary movement or anything like that, it's better to embrace it and to maybe even not understand it, but to allow it to show you and to like witness it.
41:42
And like maybe just for folks who are just kind of like new to astrology, allowing themselves to tap into what a fixed air sign is, you know, that's kind of contradictory in itself.
Fixed air is, you know, like not unchanging, like really stubborn, but like air is the opposite of that.
42:01
So like, how can we find how to like allow new, like allow the winds of change to kind of bring us an availability to like become more adaptable, you know, to strengthen ourselves, to strengthen our way of communication and our personal boundaries with ourselves.
42:21
So then we can show up in our communities even better.
That's like something that's pretty, you know, being in community can be exhausting sometimes for some folks, especially people with like a lot of like emotional stuff happening in their life.
42:37
So it's just there's some really cool things happening.
And we're so honestly like this year's so cool and supportive where I'm like, even if you don't know where to start, just step back and like watch, like just watch just like witness what's going on around you with a non judgmental mind and be like, oh, OK, I see how that's actually good.
42:58
And I don't need to like, be judged and stubborn about wanting to change my mind about that.
Like, oh, I can actually, like, soften my brow and like, allow it to happen, you know, and to not like hold ourselves back because that fixed energy can be really difficult sometimes.
43:15
So yeah.
That makes me think of because I know we had a lot of questions about like where to get started with astrology and trying to understand it.
And just you talking about like those 3 stages of like preparing, experiencing, integrating.
I feel like I've learned so much from astrology in the retrospect.
43:35
Like, I remember when we first started having readings, you would tell me, like, what was coming up, and I'd be like, yeah, yeah, you're speaking French to me.
It's going way over my head, but I'm writing it down.
Yeah.
And then the next time we would meet, I would look back and I'd be like.
Oh.
That's so interesting.
43:50
I did dye my hair pink right after you said something about Leo and Mars and whatever.
Like, yeah.
So starting to see those connections I think is so interesting.
And like especially this year where we have so much going on when in terms of change, like it would be fun to look back on that at the end of the year and kind of like reflect retrospectively on it too.
44:13
Yeah, that's, that's what a lot of like January and February of 2025 is all about, looking back at 2024 and how our choices impacted us.
So it's, it's, yeah, it's really, really great.
44:28
And that's what I love about the quarterly readings is because I get to check in and be like, OK, like it might not seem significant to you, but XY and Z happened.
Let me show you how this manifested, how this like came through.
And then it helps you kind of like, integrate the astrology instead of just like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, that sounds so cool.
44:47
Like, hype me up, you know, like stuff like that.
It's like, OK, like this is where it becomes therapeutic is when we look back.
So yeah.
And even looking back, not just like from 2024, but like from 2020, like, what big things started changing?
What big dreams like started turning in your head?
45:05
What things started, what things got activated or what things had to come to a stop because of the world you know?
And this year is when like that 2020, big dreams actually get grounded because Saturn is moving into Aries this year, not 100%, but this is just the end, just the beginning of Saturn in Aries.
45:31
And so it's just a lot of those things that we've been waiting for are finally ready for us.
So yeah.
I love that.
Yeah, and I just really love and appreciate how you talk about the astrology of this year.
Like I think that what I've been seeing at least, I don't know, maybe my algorithm has learned that I will watch a, a scary TikTok before anything else.
45:57
But I feel like what's really been going viral right now has been like the scariest interpretation of the things that you've been talking about.
And so it is so refreshing to like hear someone who's really excited about 2025.
It makes me feel a lot better as I like, you know, we know our brains have that negativity bias and it will like it does the the one TikTok that I see that's like telling me all of the scary things that will happen because of Pluto and Aquarius, That is what's in the forefront in my mind.
46:30
And so having that reframe of the really positive aspects of this transformative period is so helpful because I think that that's a thing that gets in a lot of people's way too, is when what astrologers are saying sounds really scary.
46:46
That makes you kind of want to like, draw back from the practice entirely.
Yeah, it's exhausting.
I, I've been studying astrology and working with astrology for years and like I take breaks from it because I have to unfollow a lot of the people that talk astrology because I get so anxious, you know, like I grew up as a very anxious child.
47:08
Like I love feeding that part of me because that feels safe.
It feels familiar, you know, it's like really messed up how our brains are just like so attuned to that stress and like to be like, Oh well, what's the next one?
47:24
Say like, Oh my God, what's the next one?
It's like a thriller and it's sick.
It's honestly it's sick.
Like it needs to get.
Out it's what gets clicks.
So that's what people see.
And even when we're looking through the questions, we had so many people that ask questions like why is it going to be so terrible this year?
47:43
Or like, can you talk about how bad it's going to be?
And I was like, no, it's never it's never black or white.
A year is never 100% bad or 100% good.
Like we're always going to have the ebb with the flow.
Can I ask you one more question that we didn't have on our list?
But I want you and Madison to have one more thing you can geek out about because I know you're both tarot tarot nerds.
48:05
Can you talk about how you see the intersection of like tarot and astrology, 'cause I know you bring it into your readings, but you don't, like, you don't say like I'm a tarot reader, like on your website.
So can you just, can you just enlighten me, enlighten us, geek out?
48:23
I'll just start and then I want Madison to kind of take over and then I can like add in.
I don't share that I do tarot readings online because I just, it's a different vibe.
It attracts a different type of people person and I love them.
48:40
But I love astrology so much And I find that the more I put my, I devote myself just to astrology, then I'm able to like keep tarot as more of like a hobby of mine.
At this point in my life, I've kind of made all of my hobbies into my career, yeah.
49:03
Yeah.
And I still do pool the tarot during some readings, especially if like folks ask for it.
But I feel like with the the astrology, I can go just as deep, if not deeper into like the storytelling.
So yeah.
And I kind of understand like how certain cards relate to certain planets and certain signs.
49:24
So it's it's a language, as Madison was saying earlier.
It's so funny that you say that because earlier when we were talking about not knowing your birth time and how you kind of sussed that out, I wanted to be like, oh, is this where you could like bring in other forms of divination to like figure that out?
49:41
You know, like, is that where you pull out a card or a pendulum or dowsing rods or whatever it is, you know?
And so I, I love that intersection.
It's something that like when I've had astrology readings, when Tarot's involved it, then it feels like that bridges the gap for me because it is a language that I speak.
49:59
That's where I can struggle with with astrology on the whole.
Is that similar to like my high school French class?
Like I'm not a great language learner.
Yeah.
Yeah, You know, it like takes me back to that place of like, Oh my God, I have no idea what you're saying.
And I'm supposed to know.
50:16
And so having something there that kind of like, it turns my brain to into like that receiving mode, if that makes sense.
Yeah.
I just love it.
Well, it's, it's visual, like Tarot's visual and a lot I'm visual too.
50:32
Like I have to see it to like kind of understand the story of it.
But that's a really good idea.
I haven't ever thought about like using other divination tools.
I kind of have this point for years now.
I've had a boundary up for myself to not be too psychic, which sounds ridiculous because as a kid I was like, I want to be psychic and like, I was just, that's what I wanted to do.
51:00
That's I wanted to be like who I am today, but just like more psychic.
And as I started developing into my astrology practice and you know, tarot came first for me as well, I was just like, Oh my God, this is like too much.
Like I can't handle this emotionally, energetically.
51:16
I don't know how to have a limit because I'm just especially being like, I have a really intense where my moon is, it's really, really intense.
Pluto's right on top of it.
It's like really wow.
And so I am afraid I'm like working on it and especially just working with a bunch of people.
51:41
Haven't thought about like bringing in other like modalities because I used to do like pendulum work as a kid and like with my mom and it was like really intense where like I would get like dizzy and like hot and I felt like I was going to like pass out and like, OK, I'm not ready for this.
This is like too much like I am ready for it.
51:57
But I don't know how to like create a balance.
But I feel like as I get older and as my boundaries get stronger with myself and I know my limit and I'm able to like bring that in, but that's like, damn, my mind is kind of like.
I want to think about transformation.
52:13
So.
See, I didn't even know I needed that, you know?
Like we have to allow these things to come in even if we don't know that we need them, you know?
Like, I don't claim to know everything.
Like God, I don't want to know everything.
I love the the mystery of it.
And I actually also have one more question that wasn't on our list.
52:31
I didn't know that your mom was also an astrologer.
This is another place where our lives are.
Have been trying to introduce these two for years.
So I don't know how much of the podcast you listen to or like what you know about the two of us, but I, my family owns 2 metaphysical stores in Florida and I, my mom very much raised me this way and we work together now and we like manage these two stores together.
52:58
And so I have to know, like, what is it like being in the same world as your mom?
Because it's very rare for me that I meet people who have a similar experience.
Yeah.
So just tell me all about it.
OK, well, I've been working with my mom on and off since I turned 21.
53:18
My first business was in the Wellness space, but we were creating, like, juices and smoothies and stuff like that.
And she worked with us and same with my partner.
And that was really fun.
And that's when, like, we would pull tarot in the back and we would do the pendulum when we were slow.
53:35
And like, I was just like, this is so intense, mom.
But my first reading that I got was for my 12th birthday.
It was really, really cool.
It was with her psychic medium friend who's no longer with us.
But every time I bring it up to my mom, she's like, yeah, she like.
53:53
So I was like, I don't really remember what happened.
I just know that it was like, I felt like a whole day and the whole table was covered in cards and I was like, in love.
And that was like kind of like my intro into this whole world was on my 12th birthday.
54:10
And I feel this like the woman that gave me the reading, she's kind of was like a godmother ish to me.
Like here with me.
But I, you know, as I said earlier, like I'm just, I'm not ready for it yet.
And I'm OK with that at this point.
54:25
But like working with my mom now, she actually just started working with me again as like a part of like the writing for the calendar that we're working on.
And it's been so amazing.
Like our first business was like really cool, but it was like a totally different vibe.
54:42
Like we were like working like at a cafe.
We had a cafe together.
This, on the other hand, is more creative.
We have more time to like be flexible with like how we write.
And you know, she's a night owl, so she's writing a lot of this stuff, like while she's like at night time and stuff.
54:59
And what's so cool is that my mom and I both share our sun and our moon.
Oh wow.
Which is crazy.
And my dad and I share.
So he's my dad and I share our Virgo placement and our moon as well.
So both my parents both have a Scorpio moon.
55:16
And I feel like that is a really interesting point and like it's very karmic and things like that.
And a lot of us have a lot of similarities with our parents just as like a side plug, super interesting.
Like when you get a reading for me, sometimes I ask you like what your parents signs are, especially from like seeing some stuff.
55:37
But working with my mom this time has been really, really rewarding.
I'm honestly really excited to continue to work with her.
She's going to be helping me with some blog posts and stuff like that.
But like all within the astrology realm because I am also an herbalist and that's not her thing.
55:53
But she's helping me with like making the astrology more of like a big predominant part of like our business.
So I would love to like have her be like my, I don't know the technical word because it's not sub, but like if I like get booked out, then I can like be like, oh, I'll book it with my mom, you know.
56:12
So you know, we've had when you get booked out.
Yeah, exactly when I get booked out, Yeah.
You know, it's like, it's been something, it's so strange, like looking at the astrology of this year because her and I started talking about this back in like 20-20, maybe even like before that.
56:30
So it's really everything is happening on time and it's kind of like, are you like, am I, am I, am I OK?
Like, is this for real happening?
Like it's, it's really cool.
And her and I have had that conversation a lot lately.
56:46
So it's feeling very magical and just trusting that process, you know, not forcing it, like cuz I didn't force it.
Like she had some stuff going on beforehand and I'm like, OK, maybe this is the time.
And so I just text her a couple days ago.
57:01
I was like, hey, I really would love your help.
Like if you're 1 to like, help me, you know, she's like, Oh my God, I would love it.
That would be so cool.
Like you truly want me to help you.
I'm like, yeah, mom, I love you.
Like, you're amazing.
And like, she's really blown me away with like, the copy that she's provided for the calendar.
57:18
Like, really, really, truly inspired by her.
So really grateful.
So love you mom.
I love that.
That is so cool.
I have like, I just have such a special place in my heart for other mother daughter teams.
It's like the best, weirdest, strangest, most wonderful.
57:36
Truly the relationship freaking weird as hell.
Like I man, I manage my mom, I've always managed my mom and it's like she loves it.
I'm like OK, like is this OK?
Like, when I was younger, I was just like, this feels weird, like I'm going to get in trouble one day.
Like she's going to just not like me one day.
57:53
But you know, she's like, tell me exactly what to do.
I'm like, OK, you're teaching me how to be a manager.
Cool.
I love that and now you 2 have to become best friends so.
Yeah, OK.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm like, I don't know, I've been.
Trying to make it happen.
58:08
Staying in Florida a little bit longer, so maybe I'll take a little trip up.
North, come on down to Skull Crafter.
That sounds awesome.
Chelsea, this has been so fun.
Can you share with our listeners where they can find you, where they can book with you?
58:25
Where?
Where are you at on the Internet?
So I'm mainly on Instagram.
My handle is Conscious dot Seed, my website is Conscious Seed, apotheca.com.
All the links for that is also in my Instagram.
And you can e-mail me at consciousseedapotheca@gmail.com.
58:42
Yeah, and there's astrology readings, are there?
You can find them under the spirit section on the website.
All my herbal remedies are there as well.
I focus on the nervous system from a herbalist perspective.
So if you're a nervous human with a little wiggly brain that needs to get grounded a little bit more, all of my remedies are here to support and they taste really good too.
59:07
That's kind of like a big part of like what I want is for people to be consistent with the medicine that they bring, the medicine that they bring into their body and making it taste good and have like something.
Fun.
So big fan of the Cava Chai.
59:23
That's my that's my go to when I have back pain, neck pain, menstrual cramps.
Yeah, it's my fave.
Yeah, it just melts everything.
It's super tasty too.
It's like a nice caffeine and it doesn't have caffeine breed Chai like Oh my God, like this that like makes your mouth have like a really fun, like tingly feeling like and it melts your muscles like yes, that sounds like heaven just entering cloudland.
59:46
You know, Molly's really rubbed off on me when I had to physically restrain myself from going Kava Chai.
I'll have to Kava Chai.
Oh.
My God, I love that.
I love that you might be saying that at markets now and be like you never honestly, like it's shocking how delicious it is.
1:00:05
So especially for a common product, it's it's, it's up there.
So yeah.
Chelsea anything else you want to share?
I just want to say trust the process and allow yourself to change.
Don't be afraid of anything and keep your mind curious.
1:00:22
Stay curious, stay open, keep your heart open.
If something's telling you to close your heart, then just take a moment and check in and you know, redirect if you need to and just keep your heart open.
Everything is going to be OK.
1:00:39
And this year is like, Oh my God, enjoy, enjoy, love.
It all right friends, you know where to find Chelsea.
All of her links will be in the show notes.

0:01
