0:01Welcome to Demystify Magic with Molly and Madison.I'm Molly, a former skeptic turned full time energy healer and teacher. And I'm Madison, a born and raised witch running my family's crystal shop. And we're here to explore all things woo through the lens of both science and spirituality, so that you can find the moments of magic in your everyday life and create an intentional spiritual.0:19Practice.So if that's what you're into, find a cozy spot, take a deep breath, and let's demystify some magic.Howdy Doody?Howdy Doody, I'm singing.Back to you, because. We are being on theme.0:35I love it.I love it.Today we are going to talk about perhaps our most requested episode of all time. We're gonna talk about what we can learn about magic from Taylor Swift.I have never been so surprised.Like the one time that we say like, oh, let us know.0:54What if we should do a full episode on this as a joke and the way you guys flooded our DMS of like feral for the Taylor Swift magic episode. So if you are not a Taylor Swift fan, if you had to grit your teeth and grin and bear it through our Taylor Swift France, I'm so sorry.1:16I think that you'll find something fun in here. But nobody came with that energy into our DM, so I've just decided that we have a following full of Swifties.Yeah, yeah, I knew.I knew we were going to get a lot of requests for it because. So our podcast manager, Lily, she, she doesn't usually comment on our like episodes.1:35But for that one, when we talked about Taylor Swift, literally immediately she was like, I need you to do a full Taylor Swift episode. And I was like, if Lily wants it, Lily gets.It what Lily wants, Lily gets.We put that woman through.Enough.And and this will be.1:54She'll be reviewing this right before she goes on vacation. So happy vacation, Lily.We love you. This is for you.Have a great time, we'll miss you so much. But before we dive in, Madison, what was your magic moment? So my magic moment is more of like a collection of small moments, and it actually involves you and I haven't told you about it.2:16Me.But Molly and I have both been in this era of having really vivid dreams, and this isn't something that usually happens to, like I say usually happens to me.I mean more so, like, this isn't something that I've paid attention to throughout my life.2:34But over the last, like, what, three or four weeks, almost every morning, we almost have like, a who had a weirder dream off where one of us will be like, OK, listen, this is my weird dream of the day.And then the other one will be like, Oh my God, OK, well, I I had this dream, listen to this.2:52And then we'll be like, Oh no, you won.Yours was weirder. And it has been such a fun, new way for me to like, examine and think about my dreams, 'cause you started, you started sending these first and we're like, what do we think this means?Like, coming from that place.3:09And it has kind of devolved a little bit into like a listen to how bonkers this is.But you asking the question really made me think about it with both your dreams and my dreams. And it's just been like a fun little morning routine of of magic.3:26Oh, what did you think of my dream that I sent you this morning? It was I I'm going to need to do some more research on dream interpretation to figure out what that one might mean.Molly dreamed that she was helping a woman shop for a wedding dress that was covered in Christmas Disney imagery.3:48But it was beautiful. It was gorgeous. It was like it was like picture, picture Taylor's dress, the blue speak now ball gown from right before she announced 1989 Taylor's version. It was that, but embroidered in sparkles on the front was like candy canes and Mickey Mouse with a Santa hat.4:09And half of the voice note was her defending the dress. And she she literally, at one point goes like, somebody worked really hard on this dress.I was like, yeah, you're subconscious. You have a seamstress in the back of your mind, like sewing up like, oh, she's gonna love this one.4:34Oh yeah, yeah, I do like our Little Dream rants. Also, I have been, after we've been chatting about my weird dreams, I've been putting some of them into Chachi BT and asking the robot to interpret for me.4:49And it's always weird, of course.Of course of.Course.All right, What was your magic moment?OK, do you want my serious magic moment or my silly magic moment that in some ways is more important than the serious one?You know, I want the silly one.OK, I go to the movies 2 maybe 3 * a year.5:10Something about me.I love movie theater popcorn.I love it with my whole heart and soul.I don't care if it gives me a tummy ache.I will eat that entire bucket.I will go to the movies just to eat the popcorn like I I I have considered driving to the movies just to get a bucket of popcorn and sitting in my car to eat it.5:29OK, so we go to the movies Friday night. We saw the Fall guy.Great movie, by the way.Apparently I don't know the difference between Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds.I was very confused for the first couple minutes of the movie.Wait, which?5:46One is in that movie.Gosling.Justin was like, I I was like, yeah, I love Ryan Gosling. And he's like, what is he in?I was like, I don't know. But he's married to Blake.Lively is not.6:02Have you ever seen the notebook? No.Lala Land.Nope.Wow, one person I've seen more movies than.Anyways, OK, that's not my magic moment. That's not my magic. My magic moment is get to the movie theater.6:19First of all, no one is there.Perfect.Love that for me.I go to the concession stand and I get my usual Sour Patch Kids, a large Sprite, large popcorn.I asked for extra butter. They hand me an empty bucket because they have installed ADIY Popcorn station.6:44So I got to go and put so much butter on it.It was like, you know how that people always say like you got to put a layer and then butter and then a layer and then butter and then a layer.I did 4 layers. There was so much butter on that popcorn. My cuticles are still moisturized 3 days later.6:59It was amazing.I want one.I yeah.I want a DIY popcorn.Really great. That's my 1 gripe with movie theater popcorn. Is that?It is never enough butter.Uh huh.And it's not an even distribution.7:16Yep.So it's like the closer you get to the bottom, the worse it gets. Not anymore. Not for me.Mm hmm.Can we go when I come visit?Yes, yes, yes.Just for the popcorn, we don't even have to.Just for the popcorn, Yeah.7:32I I I it.Truly I was.I was so excited. The squee that came out of my mouth I think shocked everyone working at concessions. They've never seen someone so excited to be handed an empty bucket. And what a treat for them too, to bring such joy into someone's life, you know?7:49I know.I was like, God damn. You got to be a magic moment for them as well.Man, I'm like, still dreaming of it.I'm like, Tuesday's our cheap movie night at the theater and I'm almost like What else can I see this week?Uh huh. That's so funny.8:06It was a good day.I'm still dreaming about it.Anyways, let's talk about what we can learn about magic through Tay Tay.Yeah, I think one of the most obvious when you think about it is color magic.8:21And I didn't even really think about it until you said it to me.But once you see it, you can't Unsee it.Of how deeply color is tied to each of her albums, even like in her socials and things like that. You know when you see the little heart emojis in the like in the order of the colors of the albums, you know exactly what is being portrayed or what is being conveyed in the post.8:46Yeah, I first noticed this when I started thinking about reputation, right? That black.I know a lot of times people will think like, oh, it's 'cause, you know, she was in like a dark place. But I think protection magic, 'cause that was.I mean, if if you were a Swifty.9:02When Reputation came out, it was not like a everybody loves Taylor Swift moment. It was a resurgence. It was a phoenix rising from the ashes. She needed that protective element around her because truly, it could have.It could have swung the other way.People could have totally thought Reputation was like the stupidest thing ever and the pettiest thing ever and not been on her side.9:24So I think she very strategically chose black as a protective color in that case. And same thing with with red. When you listen to that album, red is obviously the color of like, love and passion, but it is also the color of anger.9:44And I don't know how you write a 10 minute breakup song like that without being fuelled by rage.Yeah, yeah. And then 1989 Taylor's version like blue, I feel like.I feel like that was kind of like a very peaceful launch.10:03Like it was just very well communicated. It was one of her strongest launches, too.And it just felt like, I I don't know, I remember like, I'm, I'm very deep in like the lure of Taylor Swift on TikTok.And I remember everyone was kind of like frenzied around. She's going to make an announcement, She's wearing blue.10:20She's wearing blue. And then everyone was just kind of like chill about it out there. They're like, fuck yeah, 1989, you know, it was like big open skies.I also love the albums where she uses blue, because also it's the color of the throat chakra.Yeah, and so that clear, steady communication.10:38And I don't remember how many songs are on 1989 Taylor's version, but I think it's a lot.Not enough.I'm looking as a 1989 Girly.Never enough. 22 songs And so now, like, isn't it funny that with Tortured Poets Department being fucking 31 songs, I'm like, oh, only 22 songs?10:57That's nothing but like, it's like having so much in the chamber. That's how it is really, with all of the Taylor's versions. But I think also the Taylor's version songs on 1989 are such a clear commutative.11:14So good. The message is very clear.Yeah, I think 1989 in general has such a clear message, right?Like it's one of those albums that I think is like universally recognized because you don't have to dig too deep into the lyrics to understand what they're about, you know?11:31Like some of them.I think that's why I like it, 'cause I was like, you know, in my, in my 22 year old particle stage when it came out.And and I still love it to this day.Just because it's like you can beep up to it or you can dig into lyrics to be like blue dress on a boat, you know?11:51Ah yes, Blue dress on a boat. And I think that's also true for her debut album. Also being that like blue, that blue-green, if you think about it in terms of like being her first, her first album, her stepping onto the stage and being willing to speak.12:10I think a lot about this with all young artists with like the willingness to be honest and talk about your life through music as like a kid who has to go to school.Yeah, couldn't be me.That is a level of bravery that I never have and never will possess.12:32And so even if it's not conscious, I think the use of blue is a way to kind of ease that transition and like, give sanctuary to what she's saying.Yeah 'cause imagine singing about the boy you have a crush on at 16 and knowing that he's gonna hear the song.12:50Couldn't be me, could not be me.I also think too, like blue is so tied to water, which is like the element of our emotions. And so I feel like Taylor uses a lot of blue and a lot of water symbology to kind of bring that element in because so much of her music connects with us on an emotional level.13:09That's why she is such a powerhouse songwriter.Yeah.What do you think? The sepia, sepia. What do you think that color represents in the tortured poets department?I.Don't know.I thought it was Gray. It's like a sepia.I thought torches, but isn't sepia brown?13:24It's like a beige brown. Those of us who grew up in the early eras of Instagram know sepia well. That was my that was my go to.OK, I just Googled what is a sepia tone?Sepia.Sepia Technically speaking, sepia toning is a chemical process that converts the metallic silver in the emulsion of a photographic print into a silver sulfide compound.13:48This changes the color of the resulting image, makes the photo more resistant to environmental pollutants.Wow.Sepia for protection. That is interesting.Very interesting, 'cause you did say this is like a very autobiographical album that caught her through a hard time.14:09So it's interesting that she's using a color story that could be tied with the magical element of protection, yeah? What do you think now that we have some context on the Lover album, or at least how she sees the Lover album now? What do you think of that like bright pink color story?14:28I think it's, I think it's an overextended heart, 'cause when I think of like bright, bright, like so the heart chakra can be connected with like that pink or that green. And I always see green as a much more grounded heart chakra because it has that earthiness to it, that groundedness and the pink, like, I see it as like because it was so bright, because it was so out there, you know, she had hearts everywhere.14:51She had the big rainbow outfit. She had the big hearts on her face, right?Like I see it as like a heart reaching, like grasping forward rather than being really grounded in the body and grounded in self.Oh, I like that. That's an.That's a really good, interesting interpretation and almost like.15:09I just made it up.How she's talked about it now, like in if you've listened to the playlist that she made through like the stages of grief.A lot of lover songs are on the Denial playlist and that that context I think gives credence to that and shows like the the need for display almost of like if I say it enough, I make it true.15:34If I give you enough pink, you'll see.Yeah.So I like that interpretation. What was the order that it came out?Was it was it reputation 1989 and then lover or was it reputation? Was before reputation. 1989 reputation then.15:50Lover, I think. So it was this dark dark dark to a bright, bright bright. That's interesting.Yeah, that like, flip switch that.I feel like that leans into that denial piece too, because like, Taylor's not usually like a 180 ERA.16:08Like, it's a very clear progression from one era to another. You can clearly tell when, like, one ends, one begins, and it feels like to go from dark, dark black to bright, bright pink.It feels like we're missing something in the middle. And that was when people used to talk about, like, there was a missing album in there, right?16:24Karma.Yeah.Karma, the theory of karma.Yeah.And so, like, I think that denial could be like, she didn't tap into that middle section herself. She just jumped right to the bright, bright pink, right to the grasping for love. And now it's like reflecting A backing me like, oh, I wasn't like fully, fully grounded in that.16:42Yeah, so then what can we as people who don't you know, produce studio albums and create eras around them? How can we tie color in in such like a all-encompassing way?I think we can do this like retroactively, but also in present day like you can reflect back on different quote UN quote areas of your life and see like what color was I really into.17:04You know, like in middle school I had like an electric blue eyeliner phase and I can look at that and decode and be like, oh, I was like really I really wanted to be heard.I didn't feel heard at that time.So interesting.I was gravitating towards that electric blue or like you know in college I went through like a a dark phase where I just wore a lot of black and I was like oh, I I felt really vulnerable at that time.17:28So maybe I needed that black for protection. So you can kind of like play with your own eras as that or you can bring them into the now like if you know right.I really want to focus on communication.Maybe you buy a blue shirt, buy a blue sweatshirt, maybe you paint your room blue, right?17:47Change the color of your comforter and like start to bring that color into your everyday so that you're really embodying that that energy.Something that was brought to my attention recently with Color Magic was eating foods of a certain color.18:06Oh.I was.I got a Reiki session like last week where we talked a lot about my sacral chakra and the advice that I got was to eat orange foods alongside, like wear orange and you know bring orange in and always but also like eat an orange.18:24She was.She even goes, you can even have Cheetos. And I was like, I can even have Cheetos.Like say less.Cheetos are healing. You heard it here first, but you know with green bringing in like you have a salad or my first thought truly with blue was put blue icing on a cake.18:46I was gonna say blueberries, but sure, yeah.I'll sure that works too.Blueberries is probably a a better option, but.Blue Pop Tarts. You know, you could make a whole. You could have a a whole chakra cake. One slice is a different color rainbow cake.Shut up.19:02It's.I want that. It's not a bad idea.Dying eggs?Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.Right, it's not.Just an Easter activity.No.You just keep your different colored eggs and you say, OK, today I wanna work on my heart.Take a green egg.Yeah, yeah.19:21I think in general, I love this idea of like eras, especially as a tool for like, embodying who you want to be, or even, like, manifestation.I noticed this in myself, like when I was in the early stages of transitioning out of my soul sucking non profit job into working for myself.19:40I noticed the way that I dressed changed when I made that internal decision that like OK I'm going to do this for real. And for me it was thinking about the version of me that works for herself, what does she wear? And it was like leggings and sports bras 24/7.19:57And so it's like, whenever I could, it was like, I'm getting away with a sports bra underneath my work attire.I'm coming home, I'm changing right into leggings. If I can take a meeting from home, I'm doing it in my sweats. And that really helped me feel more grounded in this person that I was becoming.20:16And I now I'm like, I can feel myself, like I'm on the precipice of like a new era, I think, with this book that I'm writing. That I'm like, I just bought a bunch of flowy dresses.I'm like, who is she wearing color, wearing dresses, wearing makeup?20:34And I'm like, oh, I'm like about to enter a new era.I feel like we feel that shift and a lot of times we don't like, go for it, 'cause I'm like, oh, like even even putting the dresses on.I was like, this is really bright and flowy and people are going to be like, what the fuck are you wearing? But just lean into it.20:51When you lean into it, then the era evolves.I had something very similar happen when we decided to open.Spellcrafter is, you know, at Hedgewidge.I'm very behind the scenes.Like I'm very rarely out on the floor at the healing Hedgewitch.21:07Just like my job is mostly on the computer and putting together displays and just things like that.Like I'm not often talking to people, talking to people who come in at the store.I knew that that was going to change with Spellcrafter. And so I like, started.21:24I was like, OK, who is this person?Like, who is this person who has a store and is there every day and is like interacting with people and is who owns, like, who who owns this?Who owns this shit?Like, who owns her own, her own situation.21:41And so I started building my witch wardrobe is what my mom and I have called it.And so she's like, she'll send me links to things and be like, I think this belongs in your witch wardrobe. And it's just become like things that I wear to the shop. And so now when I, like, go out, when I go shopping, I'm like going through that lens of like, OK, what is this version of me who is gonna be there to support people in this store?22:04What does she wear and what is she doing and how is she carrying herself? And that's been so much fun.I also think it's important what you said about using eras as a form of reflection.I think that's an easier like it's an it's easier to look back and see, OK, here are all of these eras that I've been in.22:23What am I doing now and what do I want to do next?Yeah. And so when you can kind of segment things that way and?It can go beyond outfits, too.Like, I'm thinking about the person I am in this era.Right now. It's like I'm reading books.22:38I'm.Reading books.I This time last year I was not reading books.I'm reading fiction books.I'm reading smut.Who is she?Who is she?And I think was it you and I talking about this? How interesting it was that I entered my reading era and then this opportunity to write this book came along.22:59Oh no, it wasn't me.But yeah, 100%.I was talking to someone about this and they were like, it's so interesting that you've had this goal to write a book for so long, but you entered this reading era and just like, completely got, like, sucked away into the love of books. And then this opportunity just came forward.23:17And then I've been reading a lot or I've been listening to a lot of audio books on, like how to write, how to write good books. And Stephen King has a quote the top of his book about writing books that says if you don't have time to read a book, you don't have time to write a book. And I was like interesting that that that is the era that I stepped into where now it's like I have made time in my life to read and love reading and fall in love with these different fantasies worlds.23:45And now this, this is coming to me.So I think, like, what we can learn from this is when you're drawn to change things up, follow that, whether that's in what you're eating, what you're wearing, what you're reading. If you feel stagnant in your life, you can create a new era at any time, right?24:05Like, you don't have to wait for that call.If you're like, wow, I'm scrolling a lot at night. And I really, I don't like that. For me, I'm not sleeping very well. It's like, OK, what can you implement into a routine that is a 180 shift that is going to knock you onto a different course to change that and step into that new era and just think to yourself, like, what would this era of me?24:27Maybe you name that era, I'm like, I'm calling it Oprah's best Sellers list era because I'm like, OK, what?I'm redoing my website right now.I'm like, what do I need on my website that would make Oprah's people find my website and go, yeah, she's the one we need to call.Bring her in.24:43Like, I'm seeing everything through that lens. And so you can you can create that era for yourself, Like create that avatar of of whoever you want to embody. And just ask yourself, what would that person wear? What would that person eat?How would that person, what would they do first thing in the morning or what time would they go to bed?25:01What are their hobbies? What do they do for fun?Yeah.Who are they spending time with? How much time do they spend scrolling?Yeah, yeah.Or even like something that I used to do when I felt really stagnant in life that you can totally steal. It's a very easy one, is I guarantee you when you go grocery shopping, you come in, you take your cart, you start at the same aisle every single time, right?25:27Start at the opposite end of the store. No, it's going to.Totally throw you off. It's going to completely throw you off. That's the frozen section.Yeah, and start in the middle. My ice cream will sit in the car for too long.Your ice cream will be fine, but it's like it's like those routines.25:46We get so stuck in routines. We get so stuck in patterns that we don't know how to break out with them, that sometimes we just need to interrupt that pattern and do something completely wacky. You don't have to do it every time.Just do it once and see.Maybe you make different choices. That's a really interesting idea.Yeah, you play with it, you borrow.26:02It doesn't have to be the grocery store, It could be like Target.Or just take a different route home, get a different order at your coffee shop than you usually would.I love that.I love the disruption of patterns. That's what an era is, right? That's what Taylor does. It's like, we know we were like, Oh my God, she's wearing green.26:20She has a braid in her hair. What could that mean?Right?Like, we knew that something was coming before it happened, right? We saw on the live streams of the ERA store, like, Oh my God, she's wearing blue. She's wearing blue. She's wearing blue.26:35What could that mean?Like, we knew something new was coming, and then it just became that theme. And so you can do that for yourself. You need to interrupt the pattern to create a new era.Yeah, and I think what it really is too is the intentionality of choice.Yes.Of like Taylor Swift is not someone who leaves the house without putting real intentional thought into every choice that she's made into where she's going, what she's wearing, who's going to be with her, what she's going to be doing.27:06Yeah, and that's spell work. That's all magic is.Is like creating an intentional choice, moment by moment by moment. It's like living with that intention, embodying that intention and what you wear, what you eat, who you see, etcetera. It's just she has eyes on her that are clocking.27:24Them, Yes.And so obviously you don't have to go to the extents that Taylor Swift is going to of like I will only wear green in my Oprah's bestseller era.But I think it's something that there's a lot to be learned from and there are really easy ways to make it fit to your life.27:42I saw this person on TikTok.I can't remember who it was, but she was talking about how for an entire year she had her nails painted Ruby red every single day and how it totally changed the way that she, like, held herself and the way she, like walked through the world.27:58So that could be like an easy, easy one.I know for me, when I'm in my, like grungy dark era, I always paint my nails black and then I'm like, I should go to Hot Topic, you know, like it just brings that version of me out.Or you could cut your.28:14Hair to the surface.Yeah, yeah, yeah.My Taking Back Sunday phase comes back all of a sudden out from the dormancy of my.Bones, deep inside you there's like a goth Molly who's just taking like a breath of life coming, coming out of her coma.28:33I mean, yeah, she's there, She's there. She's more of an emo, Molly. But I mean to some people they might say goth.Mine just never went to sleep, yeah.Mine's still there under the surface.Don't let this highlighter fool you, OK?28:49She's dark and grungy underneath where Swimo's at heart.I think other things that I mean the the witchy Taylor Swift fan crossover section of especially like the Internet see as proof that Taylor is a little bit witchy is her use of numerology and her use of astrology.29:11And I don't know, like you and I are not numerologists, we're not astrologists. So I feel like there's people out there that are going to have better takes than we are.But I think just her, you know, everyone knows that she's kind of like in love with this number 13.And so anytime she does an announcement or whatever, there's like some tie to that number.29:30And I think this is such an interesting way to add intention to something. It's like I think one of the things that I, I mean, I don't know Taylor Swift, I wish I did.Maybe she'll come on the pod one day when I'm on Oprah's best seller list. But, but I think of it as like a lot of times when we're trying to do, you know, intentional things, we're looking for validation that we're on the right path.29:55And I feel like Taylor Swift uses 13 as that validation.Like when she has a, a, an.I don't, I'm guessing this is how I would use it.But if I had an intuitive hit for like, OK, I should drop an album on this day and then it happens to line up with 13 in some way, then I go, yes, stars are aligned.30:13And then I think astrology the same way.I mean, I think astrology is a little bit easier than numerology because you don't have to be like a I feel like some of the numbers she comes up with are like really out there. There's some real wild ones, but you can use a strong also.Sorry, no, you go.30:30With numerology, her use of clocks in all of her announcements, that feels like a like a deep tie to numerology, even if it's not like in a more traditional way.She gives a lot of her, like hints and signs through numbers that if I were her, those numbers would have meanings to me that only I know.30:50Like Sigils, she's turned her numbers into sigils. That's how it.Feels to me.That's how it feels to me, too. That makes sense.Yeah.Oh, that's so interesting to think about.I mean, you can you can experiment with this in your in your own.31:07Like if you want to turn a number into a sigil, if you have a lucky number, for me it's 37.So anytime something adds up to 37, I'm always like, hmm, what is this trying to tell me?What does this mean?So you can play with that.I think astrology too is an easy way to add intention to things.31:25Like, I mean, you know, you can if you have a house, if you have a business, you can pull up a birth chart for those spaces, right, based on when you when the house was born or when your business was born. And you can make decisions based on that birth chart.31:42I work with an astrologer in my business. And I literally sat down with her Friday and I was like, OK, what day should registration open for Reiki training? And she and I look at the calendar and I'm like, I want it in this month. And she's like, great, do it this date.Don't do it this date. Here's why.31:58And so like, making intentional choices based on that, I find that helps me add like a layer of intention to it because then I can go into it knowing like, OK, collectively, you know, we're coming out of Saturn retrograde or whatever. So that could mean this, this and this for the people who are considering.32:14So you know, I want to add a little bit more space for people to make that decision before or whatever. You know, like I can kind of map my my registration around that and I think you can also just, you know, use your astrology in your day-to-day life, right?32:29Like I know people who plan their weddings based around astrology because they want a birth chart for that relationship. That is going to help like I don't know, do something for them.I don't really understand astrology to be honest. With you?Yeah, if you came to or if you even heard us talking about the spellcrafter soft opening, if you came and saw it, you would know that it was the softest of soft openings.32:55We basically set up a pop up inside this massive space that now is spellcrafter. It was like 2 to 3 tables and a dream. That was entirely because of astrology, because I met with an astrologer and was like OK, if this is what I want this to look like.If this is like, if I want this business to be as successful as possible, when do I need to open it?33:14And it was at 12:00 noon on the dot February 24th.Yeah.And so that is what we did.Yeah, and for me, I'm someone that like at least when I'm making choices around dates I I'm always like, I don't know, anytime there's like too many options.33:31We chose the the launch of this podcast around astrology too, and we launched it on the new moon last year. And it was a date that my astrologer said we should launch it on.And I was like, great, That's what we're doing because truly in like January, we're like, when do we want to launch this podcast? When do we want to do this?33:47And we're like, I don't know, February, March, April, May, June, never. And so we needed a little bit more guidance around like, all right, let's narrow this down, Let's narrow this down.Yeah, I found that I'm someone who I need a deadline in some cases.Something I'm really, really trying to integrate this year is the idea that done is better than perfect.34:07Done is better than perfect. And so I think that this is astrology is a great way to give yourself a deadline that is in its in in its own nature a kind of low pressure. But it's a hard line in the stand for me, like OK, I this is ideal for me.34:22This is the ideal time to do this thing. So let's just get it done and done is better than perfect. And I'm so much better when I'm iterating rather than doing something for the first time.So let's just do it for the first time and give it this birth chart and give it its best run chance and let's just do the thing.Yeah, I think we can take astrology into, you know, other areas of life too.34:41Maybe you're not creating something like a podcast or business or whatever, but maybe it's just like, OK, when am I going to take my vacation?Maybe not during Mercury retrograde, right? When do I want to, you know, make that big purchase right by that house, by that TV, by that vacuum, right.35:00Doing that around astrology too, is just another way that you can add again. It's like adding layers of intention to everything.Like Taylor is so like she, she feels like magic.Everything she does feels like magic because everything she does has intention. And that's really what magic is, right?35:16We say that all the time. You are the magic.Your intention is the fuel for that magic. As you were talking, I just realized that my outfit is on inside out.So yes, retweet to everything that you just said, but also I have to flip my shirt.35:38I should not be allowed to dress myself. You were just you're just trying to hold hold the clothes close. To you?Uh huh.The worst part is that that means that it was on my hanger inside out.I mean, most of my clothes are on the hanger inside out.35:55I'm just doing my best.I'm just doing my best here.Anyways, the last thing that we wanted to talk about is kind of a more general idea that we touched on a little bit the last time We talked about Taylor Swift and her witchiness. But the general idea of like, the spelling something how I feel that her songs are bewitched with a catchiness that goes outside of the realm of normal catchiness.36:21It's the same thing that we think is on Sabrina Carpenter's espresso.Every time you say 'cause I'm the.Singer.Singer.So good.36:38Sabrina, I would like to invite you on the podcast next just to talk about how much we like this one song.I don't think it's an accident that Sabrina Carpenter produces quite possibly the catchiest song of our generation after she spent so much time with Taylor Swift.36:55Come on.I'm just saying.Come on, come on.We all know that since the ERA Store, Sabrina has started wearing the same tights that Taylor wears on the tour. What else is she teaching you?Sabrina, we have to know.Is it witchcraft?37:11It's that me, Espresso. Both witches.Anyways, and I love them.Uh huh.And they're my favorite witches. We talk a lot about imbuing objects with intention.Yeah, I do it all the time with jewelry.37:27We do it with crystals. We do it with candles. All of those methods can be used to imbue an idea with energy. Can imbue a song with energy. We can we rapid fire ideas of how to do this.Yeah.Go.For it.OK.37:43Oh God.Now I feel nervous.Something I do on Instagram that I don't normally talk about is I imbue emojis with different intentions.I treat them like sigils. So when I use different emojis in my posts or even in my bio, they have different layers of intention to them.38:01So like one of them's for protection. One of them is for like calling in the people who agree with this post.So I have like specific emojis I'll only use on posts that I know are going to be a hot take because I only want it to go to the people who are going to like hear that and not be a Dick about it.38:18Also another thing that I learned is you can if you make like your graphics or whatever on Canva and you can do this in anything. You can make a sigil the same color as the background and stick it in the back of a graphic. So I have different sigils in the background of different graphics that you'll never be able to see.38:37That only I will know is there. You can do this in a Word document, just make it white and then put it behind the text. You can do this in an e-mail, probably.Emoji's probably gonna work better for that, but I will do this all the time.I will do this all the time, all the time. You can also imbue words that same way.38:55Yes, words are spells.Spelling.Spelling is fine.So reading is fundamental. So using the e-mail example, if you're writing an e-mail to someone that you know, you sign it off best and view the word best.39:12Honestly, if there's oh oh oh oh.If you in your normal job, whatever, have an e-mail sign off.Like an automatic e-mail sign off that goes on an e-mail no matter what it, you know, like whatever it is in Gmail signature.Uh huh.Imbue that with energy.39:28Imbue that with intention.Yeah.Clear communication.Yes.If you're in a more creative field, put an emoji in it.Oh yes, I love this.I love this. You could imbue different punctuations.Oh.39:47Right.If I use a semi colon we're giving this, yeah.If I use a colon, we're giving that.Yeah, I think the biggest thing we can learn from Taylor is that everything can be magic because you can add intention to literally everything.Yes.40:02And so where can you add more intention to your life and therefore add more magic to your life?We could have just started and ended the podcast with that.Yeah, I guess so.With that.Sentence.This was more fun. What can we learn from Taylor Swift?Everything is magic.Everything is magic, which is why, Taylor, you should come on our podcast.40:19Because that is really what we're all about here.Uh huh. Please confirm that you are a witch on our podcast. Please give us the exclusive. The exclusive. We'd love to have you.All right.I think we did it.And with that, I'm gonna go listen to Taylor now.40:35Wait, what song from Tortured Poets department is stuck in your head this week?Who's.Afraid of little old me.It's my feminine rage song.Yeah, mine's still down bad.And espresso, the MI Espresso all.40:52Right, this was fun.And on that note, OK, bye. Thanks for listening to Demystify Magic with Molly and Madison. If
